Hi guys!
Hey I hardly ever post on here and I don't even own a Vette! A few of you guys on here have sold me parts that went into my project car though. The reason I'm posting is that this project car is one that some of you local SF Bay Area guys might want to check out. I'll have it down at Club Auto Sport in San Jose this Saturday. It's a Saturn Sky Redline with a pile of CTS-V and C6 parts on. LSA, TR6060, etc. I think you guys will recognize the Centennial Edition parts in the interior shots here. The LS7 manifolds, cats, LS9 intake and C6 console are all parts I got from members here. THANKS BTW!
If any of you aren't doing anything stop by this Saturday. My son will also be down there with his Saturn Sky Redline. Just a wimpy little 350whp 2.0L in that one.
Here's a few shots of my Sky "V". Too bad Cadillac never made one.

Perfromance and hard numbers?
I remember when the Solstice came out one of the magazines swapped in a corvette LS motor and the performance didnt match the vette.
Id be curious to see how it stacks up.
Nice Sleeper for sure!!

The 4 banger I had in it put down ~500whp/500wtq. With the 4 the car weighed a little over 3000 lbs. 60-100 times were 3.4 seconds all day long. It would have no problem walking away from a C6 ZO6. I've only done one 60-100 run on my usual testing spot with this LSA and it did a 3.0 second run. That's with 500 miles on the engine and still early in the fine tuning and on cr@ppy cali pump gas.
As far as handling, these cars have a frame that is almost identical to the C6. The frame/chassis is extremely tight. Suspension is actually the simple, tried and true double a-arm with coilovers. They come with Bilsteins stock and there's GMPP track setups available for stiffer springs, shocks and sway bars. Cornering is I'm sure as good as or better than most C6's, at least below 130mph or so. Above that and obviously the Vette shows what it was built for and the Sky/Solstices were not built for.
The stock brakes suck on these cars. I now have one of the strongest brake setups I've seen on these cars, even the Solstice GTS car I've worked on. The front and rear brakes are all made up from OEM Brembo parts, but from different applications. The brakes are smooth and controllable but have no problem going into a full anti-lock stop at over 100mph.
Hope that helps, I know most people have no clue about these cars. My boss, the service manager at our dealership has been in the business for 35 years. He looked underneath my car one day and was like "Wow, this car has a full frame?" lol. Obviously it's not a Corvette and it's not a race car. I patterned it more towards a Cadillac CTS-V anyway. Lots of power but very civilized. That's what I wanted in a daily driver!
Here's the road test on the Hot Rod Solstice with the LS7. Check out the last page, it compares what was the current ZO6 to the V8 Solstice. Pretty interesting.

Thanks guys!

Here's your hard numbers DucatiDan...
614whp/602wtq. Still very early in the tuning process, as you can see the AFR is a horribly rich 10.3. I'm expecting around 650/650 at the wheels after it's dialed in fully. That means it will end up around 750 crank hp/trq.

Missed this post til now. I was the (bald) guy with the Night Race Blue C7.
Pretty wicked results you got with your setup!
I gotta say how eerily quiet your ride was while pulling on the dyno, makes your ride a sleeper on top of what it is already.
Was great chatting with you and your fellow Solstice / Sky owners. May have to hit you guys up in the future for reference for my MogRod project.
