We're driving up to the bay area later this week.
Driving the coastal roads, thru Monterey area, SFO, then up to Muir Woods, then over to Lake Tahoe, then home.

Plan to visit Muir Woods (11 miles north of SFO) on this next Friday. I was there, over 25 years ago, and am sure it has changed. Been reading on line, and understand parking can be a night mare, and shuttles only run on weekends and holidays.
It just doesn't work for me, to get there early in the morning, with other things planned.

So I think we'll arrive there, late Friday afternoon, after 4pm. How are the roads down (or up) into the Natl Monument for Corvettes? Are they surfaced okay? And can I hope the parking will be a little better late in the afternoon after morning crowds have gone home?

Appreciate any thoughts or tips from anyone who has been there recently.

Use the shuttle service. Not worth it to drive and hope to find parking.

Does the shuttle run on week days? All I've read or found so far, indicates it only runs on week ends and holidays. ???
