Default Hooked On Corvettes and HOD 5 Mile. Come on In

Who else is planning on attending the HOD Hooked on Corvette day and the 5 miles track day Oct 23-24? Derek and I are signed up and hopefully we can get a few of the local track rats to come out and play. Thursday is the Hooked on Corvette day using the regular track and Friday is the 5 mile track.

Sign up and post if you're going.

I might sign up depending on how my car is doing after Runoffs. It would be fun to hang out with you and Derek at the track. You will love the 5 mile.

That would be fun. I think you should try driving his car with the 475 rwhp that is has now.

I will be attending the lunch run on the 22nd and the track day on the 23rd but don't think that I will be able to stick around for the 5 mile track day on the 24th.

I have a vert with no roll bar. All I can do is attend the lunch and the parade lap.

This will be my 4th year in a row doing both the cruise and track day. It's also one of the fastest group days with all the Corvettes. Always a great time.

I was going to do the lunch run, and stick around and watch the next day. We just had to withdraw from our race at Sears Point because our engine will not be done for the historic car. Hopefully it will be done by mid October and I was going to test it at the last historic race at ThunderHill at the end of October. It would be cheaper to test it at the Corvette day if they let me in one of the slow groups away from you fast guys. We will have to wait and see if the crankshaft actually gets done before then.

I wouldn't miss it. Richie has me serviced up and ready to roll.
I will only make the Lunch Run and the short track. No 5 mile for me this time, but it is on my to-do list.
I went to Laguna Seca last month. It was fun, but too short. I am Hooked on T-Hill. Best track in the State.

Looks like we will have a few of the locals up there. Keep posting up if you're going. As of now all the run groups show to have spots available.

I'll go if I can get the time off from work. It would be nice to go as part of an early bday gift to myself. I'd be joining with beginners since this would be my first time. I have a better chance of making thu vs fri because of work. At what point would they consider non vettes? I took my buddy to the last Santa Clara Vettes autox @ marina with his '13 mustang gt.

On the Hooked On Driving web site, they say if it's not sold out 3 weeks before the event they will open it up to non corvettes.

Ok cool. Thanks, I'll let him know to look out for that. I've been working out of state in Montana for 3 weeks now and just got extended another 2 weeks. I hope to be home in time for this.

Did my first HPDE at Thunderhill on Sept. 5 on the five mile. I sucked. Think I will try the 3 mile with all Vettes.

Brand new C6 Z06 owner here. I just (nervously) signed up for the HOD on the 23rd. I look forward to meeting you all and embarrassing myself in front of you soon.

Question: I'm thinking of driving up the evening before and getting a hotel room so I can get a decent's night's rest before the HPDE. Any suggestions for a safe, moderately priced, clean hotel to overnight with the Z06 in the parking lot near Thunder Hill?

There's a list of hotels on the HOD website. I have stayed at the bay view and the motel 6. They are both cheap rooms and nothing more. I am going up sept 27 and staying at the Holiday Inn this time.

Sure wish I could take the time off work to come and do this every with all Vettes.
