Default Hooked On Driving / Cars and Coffee Event Feb 7th

Just wondering if anybody is planning to head out to Sears Point (Sonoma Raceway) on Saturday Feb 7th for the HOD Cars and Coffee event. They are also hosting an open track day at the same time, which if the weather holds up, we will be running. Abel Chevrolet will be there supporting HOD with our new 2015 Z06 on display and likely signed up for the track day. Derek Abel will be there in his race car also.

Roll call... Who's coming? Hopefully the sunshine will stick around for that day.

I will be there either in my car or my friends if it's still under construction.

I'm not ready to track mine yet, but would like to come and be a spectator and check things out. Not much info on the HOD site about times. Is there more details somewhere I'm missing.??

The track day runs all day, but I think the Cars and Coffee event is 9am - 1pm or something like that.

Not real keen on giving my email address to "SurveyMonkey" (sounds like trouble), but I'm registered.

Very clever idea by HOD to mix a car's and coffee with a track day . Great way to get more people exposed to hpde with no intimidation factor.

I've never driven with HOD. How much track time do you get?

here is everything on their site.... I think you get about 30min per session and I think they do 4 session.... 2 morning per group and 2 per afternoon.... But im sure someone with more knowledge will chime in

Join us for a rare weekend date at historic Sonoma Raceway!

We will run four run groups, but No First Timers group. Drivers will need to be solo-signed off or have credible experience with another group - we do reserve the right to screen drivers for experience.

Having said that - we're planning on having a blast in the futile attempt to get the best of this tough, challenging and exciting track.

Sound limit is 103db, Garages will be available - we'll do an invitation and request an RSVP about 2 weeks out from the event.

We look forward to seeing our "Sonoma Friends" as we know this is a favorite venue for many. If you have driven other tracks and are clearly solo - sign up for the Low Intermediate and we can guide you on the nuances - then place you where you belong as the day progresses
GROUP B1 - Low Intermediate - AVAILABLE
GROUP B2 - High Intermediate - AVAILABLE
GROUP C - Advanced/Point By - AVAILABLE
GROUP D - Advanced/Open Passing - AVAILABLE
GROUP X - Coaches - Leaders - AVAILABLE

Precisely Bill. I won't mention any names (Doug Campbell!), but it was someone on this forum who got me to my first track day.

What?! Real people can drive their own cars on world-famous race tracks?! No way. Yep. This is a growing sport that would grow even faster if folks knew it existed and realized that you don't have to have a Corvette to participate (although, if you're gonna do it, may as well do it right ).

Oh, and Congrats Team Corvette at Daytona!!!
