Richie's 35th B-Day Bash. Saturday May 9th. Live Bands and More
Many of you made it out to my 30th B-day a few years ago and we all had a blast. Well, this year's party should be even more epic than that. I have reserved a local bar (again) and we have a couple bands booked. First up is The Derek Abel Band, featuring our own Tunaman on the keys and Derek Abel of Abel Chevrolet as lead vocals and playing the harmonica. They will be playing a couple 75-90 minute sets of rock and blues. Next up will be Shane Dwight, who will also be playing a couple 75 minute sets. The bar will be making pizza for us and they promise to have plenty of beer. In fact, they challenged us to try and drink it all.
Location is Plainfield Station Bar and Grill in Woodland, CA (23944 County Road 98, Woodland, CA 95695). Once I know how many people are interested in hotels, I can call and set aside a few rooms. I also have a cab company that will supply a van to take people to and from the hotel/party from 9pm-1am so there won't be any need for driving after partying.
Party is Saturday May 9th from 5pm-1am. The Derek Abel Band will start playing at 5:30 and then Shane will start around 9pm
Everyone is invited and I hope to see a lot of Corvette owners there. Please post up if you plan on making it so that I can give the bar a head count. They need to know how much pizza to prepare and how much beer to buy

Just to be clear, I'm not paying for the hotel rooms for those that want them, I'm just going to try and get a reduced rate based on the number of rooms people will need.
We are covering the costs of the bands and the cabs to run people back and forth. Still working on the exact plan for food, but the beers will be purchased through the bar at a reduced rate.

I have 20 rooms set aside right now, but we can open up more if needed. The group rate is $119 for the night and all the rooms will be double queens so people can bunk up if needed.

I can't wait. The Derek Abel Band has been practicing every week and these guys are going to kill it. Derek asked if there were any special songs they could learn and they've been working on a couple for me. Hopefully we will have all our Corvette brother and sisters there to help party.
