The Passing Of a Dear Friend and Corvette Supporter(Mr Bill)
Im posting this for Joe from the C6 section as I know a lot of you may know Bill .......
MCharlie;1589142366]On February 27, 2015, George William "Bill" Karadimos, aka Mr. Bill, here on the Forum, passed away.
He was my closest friend for 45 years. His children and my children grew up together and my home was always his home. When his home was flooded back in the '80's, due to the Truckee River overflowing its banks, He and his family stayed with us for several weeks, until it was safe to move back to his house. Just one of the many memories I have of Mr. Bill.
Bill drove a beautiful, Pewter, 2002, Z51, C5 with red and black interior. The car was sleek, fast and babied (foo-foo'd!) to no end. As you can see here, *I* think it puts my C6 to shame:
Bill was a staunch supporter of the C5 section here, and regularly posted messages, photographs, slide shows, and help to any who asked.
His son Kris, has inherited the C5 and will drive it with love, and appreciation, a good continuation of the the Mr. Bill C5 tradition. (You can say hi to Kris by going to the C5 section and messaging PICNIC_GEORGE.)
Anywho.....
Just been thinkin'..(Dangerous, I know....)
We (collectively, the Corvette Forum) really should have a Mr. Bill, Remembrance, Meet and Greet, up here in Reno. ALL Corvettes would be welcome!
A fun road trip for all, lots of good 'watering holes' (What we in ham radio call 'eatin' places'!) I'm sure eating establishments, like Peg's Ultimate Ham 'n Eggs (Here in Reno)could accommodate a group of road warriors, or The Wigwam Cafe in Fernley. Both places have great food. Only draw back there would be in Fernley, as the parking could be a problem if ***LOTS*** of cars showed up. Peg's has a gigantic parking lot, so no problems there.
Another idea would be one of the major hotel/casinos, like The Peppermill, or Atlantis, luncheon buffets. These are GREAT buffets' and the variety of food is mind-boggling. They also have geezer pricing, which makes it nice. (1 geezer card and everyone gets that price, regadrless of age!)
Anywho...
Anyone interested in a Mr. Bill Remembrance Corvette meet and greet, sometime this spring?

Bill was a nice guy...I had a couple transactions with him and he did some pictures for me. Was a stand-up, nice guy. I was sad to hear of his passing. RIP Bill.

RIP Bill and I am sorry for your loss Kris. I had no idea of the relation, but I had multiple dealings on and off line with both of you.

Sad, the passing of a father, friend, family and forum member. I have seen his posts here and there. I am truly sorry to all for your loss. From what I have read, he was an incredible person with a good heart.

Wow. I'm feeling pretty sad right now. Bill was always an awesome guy and made everyone feel welcome. He will be missed. If my schedule permits, I will definitely make the 4 hour trek to Reno to celebrate this great Corvetter.
