Who in the Bay Area does professional detailing? I just picked up a 2004 commemorative edition z06 and its in need of a pro detail. A lot of swirls, rids, and the like but no major scratches. I'm no professional and don't have the equipment to tackle the hard GM paint.

I take my 06 vert to these guys in San Jose. Very good results. For example, after the guys in the back are through the front guys go over it with small paint brushes to 'swab' between all body panels (hood, fenders, doors) and do a final wipe down. Before washing they place bags over the mirrors and after washing the top they immediately blow dry it and when the car is finished it is fully dry, no drips underneath, nothing. I can put the top down before I leave. They offer all levels of service and some are $$ but again, I've never had a bad service with them. They even took me in one afternoon as I had an emergency. A truck in front of me on the road ran over a rattle can of white spray paint that twirled in the air right in front of me spewing paint all over my car. I had thousands of little sprits of white paint on my silver car. After they were through I couldn't tell it had ever been 'painted'.

also, Reliance Auto Body & Paint on Pullman in San Jose does a great job with swirl and scratch removal of your whole car for $200, but do not let them touch up any paint chips because they are horrible at matching and blending paint. Other than poor paint matching they did a splendid job on my mag red. Cant beat 200 bucks and they were doing a slick yellow 360 modena at the same time as my car, for whatever that's worth.

What is a realistic price range for the aforementioned detail services. I'm guessing $200-$500, but since I always do my own car I don't know.

If someone is charging $200 for "Paint Correction" they are probably not worth a damn. There's way too much time involved to do a car for only 200$.
Go to Jeff he's the best and done more corvettes than probably anyone around here paint correction wise.
