Seraching for my former '99 Pewter Coupe in the Fremont CA area
I posted a thread in the general C5 discussion area with VIN# here:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...remont-ca.html
I am the original owner of this car, it's the one in my avatar pic. Started out in TN and went to CA in 2002. If you own this car I'd like to talk with you.
Thanks.

I had those seats and black interior. Those were high end seats back then.
I just thought it would be neat to be able to find "that car" I once owned-again.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Still curious
Would “still” like to find the Vette I bought brand new off the showroom floor in February of ‘99.
David Hill signed under the hood on the passenger side. As your standing at the passenger fender with hood open it’s on the upper right side.
I believe it said: “Best Vette yet”
Thanks for being on the look-out or mentioning it to any possible prospects.

Bump, still looking after all these years. It's still in California according to the history I pulled on it today. Had 74,000 miles on it July '21 and has not been through emissions or registered in another state since.
Thanks

So it will be getting another smog test most likely soon if last was June 2021. Do you have a good sight to run VIN's or are you using Carfax? I spent a bit of time the other night trying to see if an old Camaro I used to have was still kickin. 1Q87U7L628260

I used Carfax years ago when I had free access to it through e buddies dealership that I was billing through and flipping cars. I can't find that Carfax so Monday of this week I used "EpicVin". I didn't see anything to Epic about it really. It didn't even list the city and state where as the Carfax I last saw years ago did. Cost $15.00
I've got it posted on several Facebook forms Including NorCal Vettes. One guy said he lived in Fremont Ca and would keep an eye out. According to the net, this town has a population of 230 thousand people so I think it'd take a Vette enthusiast to spot it.
I've checked with "Lost Muscle Cars" on Facebook and they said the car (any car) had to be gone for 25 years before they'd take a look at it. I'll be '23 years this October. I think I can pay a local PI to run the vin and knock on the door,, make contact with current owner. Not sure how pricey that'd be.?
I just thought it'd be so cool if a Vette guy or gal spotted it, when up to it with phone in hand, verified the vin and showed their phone to the owner--"hey, the original owner of this car is looking for it and you"
I can't believe someone could own a car like this, and not ever be on corvette social media or on this site. If so they would have seen it by now.
Would you happen to know if the car was brought into California from TN, was the owner required to put CA emissions crap on it? That'd be the 1st thing to go!
