I think you'll have problems with the LT's. I had Kooks on my 2008 that I had to remove. They don't do the sniffer test anymore, they connect to the OBD II port. My LT's were missing a sensor.
Good luck

When they plug into the OBD II port what does it look for? What if you had a tune done?

So as long as all the sensors are working and it passes a visual your good to go? No sniffer?
So a big cam car can pass?

So even though I have no codes it will report as such?
Reason I ask is because I previously had long tubes and turned off the rear O2's, but have since gone to smog legal shorties just because I don't want to deal with smog issues. However, I have not turned on the rear O2's

When the tune is loaded it will reset the monitors, same with replacing a battery or clearing the check engine light. With the new OBD2 check, there is more emphasis on the visual so it will be more difficult than previously when the sniffer made the call.
No, but if you have long tubes then the smog station will likely fail you on the visual. If you find a "visually impaired" smog guy then you will be fine as long as the criteria I mentioned above has been met.

All afternarket parts have to have a CARB executive order # with a eo sticker under the hood for each part installed.I used to have a Cali smog tech license. If its not CARB approved part it will fail on the visual. Also modern cars tun tests on evap, egr, cat effiency while driving. If you do the old <turn off the check engine light with the cheepo scanner> it will erase the monitor tests and the car will fail. The latest fiasco is the komifornia approved cat converters-you cant replace with just anything.Work around-register your car in a county that does not require bi-annual smog checks.FYI-if you get pulled over and the officer suspects something isnt quite right he can refer you to a referee station for an inspection. The bureau of automotive repair sends inspectors out and fines the techs and the shop owners heavily. The machines are online 24/7 with BAR.If a certain tech's pass/fail % doesnt look right thay send rigged cars out to trip them up.

Thanks for the info Rich. I used to have longtubes and is the reason why my rear sensors are turned off. I traded the longtubes long ago for B&B smog legal shorties just so I don't have to deal with any smog issues. They have a C.A.R.B. tag on them so there should be no issues with visual or tailpipe inspection. I was just concerned if the rear O2's had any affect on the test.

The rear o2's are only there to monitor catylist effeciency. They have no effect on changing the running A/F of the engine. If the ecm sees matching voltages from the front and rear o2's then it knows the cats are not working or missing. It probably wont be long before the smog test machines start checking for modded tunes.
