I was very impressed with the new Hoosier R7. They seemed to grip better and wear looks slightly better compared to the R6. If you can run 315's all around, that is a good option because you can not only flip them inside out but also side to side but also front to back to increase life.

Another friend of mine liked the R7's too. I run 315's all the way around now for AX. I found some PZero world challenge qualifying scrubs in 305 for $165 ea shipped, I think I might start with those then work my way up to new stuff.

You have to be careful with running a full slick. You need a very aggressive alignment to make them work and they can be downright scary for the first couple laps. I would not recommend jumping from a street tire to those for your first few track days.

If you do get the Pirelli scrubs then make sure the diameter is correct for what you want. Some of those slicks have a very tall sidewall that will require raising the car up to clear.

Thanks Rich, I'm going to run them at the AAS test track at Crows for a day in Aug. to see what they are like. They measure 25.75 in height, about the same as the Falkens I'm running. I am running 2 degrees neg front and 1 degree neg at rear, 0 toe front 1/8" toe in rear and max caster. Do you think that will work well?

You will hate them on an auto x course. They will never get warm unless you get a chance to do 5-6 back to back laps. Most of those types of tires want -2.5 or -3.0 camber to wear evenly. Give them a try and see what you think though.

Im going to run the practice course at Crows on 8/22. No one has been using it. On the last event (7/5) I got in 20 plus runs in an hour. Im hoping I can get to do that again in Aug. Thanks for the camber info, I bought the scrubs cheap, so if I kill them fast it won't break my heart, thats why I'm not buying new atm.
