I'd go but i only get 2 runs...

First pass is a warning to slow it down and second pass they tell me to get the safety equipment on there

There are 4 of us from South Valley going for sure (and maybe one other club member). We are planning to leave Gilroy at 1PM and get there between 3:00 and 3:30 depending on traffic. See you there.

Default NHRA Rules

If your Car is a 2008 and newer, the rules are a little more lax these days ever since NHRA addressed the safety concern issues involving later model cars.
Unless your car is a convertible or a T top type and the body is unaltered from the factory, you should be good to go as long as your times are not quicker than 10 seconds flat and your mph does not exceed 134.99 mph.
However, a Helmet will be required as well as a protective drivers jacket that meets current SFI specs

There are more and more late model Corvette's showing up at Sonoma Raceway for the Wednesday night races, might have something to do with the cool air from the Bay plus the traction is quite good as well.
Gates open at 3 PM, time runs right around 4 PM with class eliminations set for 6 PM or so,
If you can't attend, follow the event live from start to finish on:
www.1320go.com/sonoma Set your car radio to the track broadcast frequency which is 87.9 FM

Should also mention that the Sonoma drift cars are also taking place at the same time in the main paddock area. No additional charge to watch, you entry at the front gate is good for both events.

Hope to see you there.

thanks for the color guys, work is overwhelming at the moment but I'll come out sometime soon and just do 1000 foot runs or something since i'm pretty sure >140mph at the 1320 would happen fairly easily. I could certainly use more seat time in my car and always more fun to drive it than watch it in the garage

George, thanks for arranging this event and congratulations on your very impressive runs despite having traction issues with your street tires. Also, congratulations to South Valley Corvette club member Al Rock for winning the Gear Jammers class. It was a very fun evening and can't wait until we do it again.

Cool video! You need some drag radials before your next trip to the track.

dang! time for drag radials for sure! not sure how much you drive the car but I have had good experience with nt555r tires on cars I drive more frequently, I easily got 12-15k miles out of a set and they do quite well in the turns if psi is kept up. I think autox guys even used to use them back in the day when they first came out before more cornering focused similar options were available. with ~440whp na I could dead hook 2nd on the street without a burnout on them and nt555r is not expensive too.

My buddy has a 245 nitto 555r on his cam only gto and it hooks up pretty good. A lot of it is throttle control with a street tire. Ive gone 1.79 60ft on a 285 stretched nankang on a 20 inch wheel and they dead hook most of the time with a 150 shot from a 2nd gear roll. Of course if I just floored it from a stop Id probably take out a tree.
