My C6 was serviced at Abel Chevrolet without leaving home
My 2007 coupe needed the low beam headlight recall, plus I wanted to get all the fluids changed, bumper-to-bumper, since I plan on keeping my low-mileage Vette.
Trouble was, I didn’t have confidence in the dealers nearest to my Palo Alto home, and I was having trouble finding time to drive 90 minutes to Abel and wait for the service to be done. Luckily, a friend and fellow Santa Clara Corvettes and CF member (99C5Alan, if you must know) mentioned Abel’s pickup/delivery service recently. I PM’d Richie Rich, selected a pickup date (yesterday) and today I got my Vette back by 10:30 a.m. Their driver left me with a free loaner car that I didn’t happen to use.
This morning, two Abel guys arrived in a C6 Z06 that had been trucked in to Abel for engine work. They were delivering it back to the owner in San Luis Obispo, a mere 265 miles/ 4 hours from Abel! Talk about customer loyalty … which I also now have that I’ve experienced an unparalleled level of Old School customer service. It's like having a Chevy dealer at the end of your driveway.
Think about it.

Yup, Abel is THE BEST hands down...... Try and find a dealer that will give you the customer service that Richie and his crew gives you ...
They are the only dealer that touches my car and MANY of the guys in our group,,,
I was there yesterday when they were discussing bring your car to you and then the drive to SLO..... Not only is the service crew the best but their drivers are the best.....
They came to my house once and somehow my front gate got locked and the driver couldn't get in.... Others would have walked away and went back to the shop... But his drivers figured out a way to get into my garage and get my car....
They always go above and beyond just the repair..
Everyone should be using Abel....

Abel picked up my ZR1 last week. Not much work to be done. Just new tires, brakes, Torque Tube and pressure plate. Guess I have to give up those Sunday cruises.

It really depends on what your getting done and if they are already in your area at the time.. Just for an oil change they really would come out I don't think.... but for a list of things to do im sure they will try and work something out with you .....And in this case they were headed the same way with another car so it all worked out for the good....

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
We do offer a pick up and delivery service if the customer is in a bind, but it is typically reserved for larger jobs. Simple oil changes and quick maintenance work won't qualify, but for larger jobs that would be multiple hours in the shop or overnight we can usually work out something.

I had some work done at another shop which at this point shall remain nameless I went to them because they were a little cheaper that Abel (100 bucks) Boy what a mistake! SEVEN months later I still cannot drive my Vette due to the shoddy work that was done there After the initial shop (who is supposed to be a Corvette specialist shop) had done the work they told me that there was still another issue and would require more work to be done. It was then that I took my beloved C5 to Abel. They took care of the secondary work like the pro's that they are. Unfortunately the initial issue is STILL there. As much as I would love to get the initial work (that needs to be redone) done at Abel well due to warranty (and legal) issues I have to take it back to that first shop. I can say this though............That first shop will never see my Vette again and from now on ALL work will be done at Abel no matter what the price!
