Last wednesday drag racing night at Sac Raceway
Anyone want to come out for the last wednesday of the year for street drags at sac raceway. Weather is going to be amazing as long as it stays dry. Got my fastest et last year on the last wednesday. Looking to do the same this time.

I was just wondering what is the most popular drag radial for an 04 C5Z. This my first corvette and I plan to run It maybe on the New Years day race. I might try a tnt at Sac just looking for a tire. I plan to drive to track. Thanks

How far of a drive are you from the track? If you drive a bit Id say go for the mickey thompson et streetes. If you are relatively close get some hoosier drag radials. But If you only plan to go very rarely Id say get the hoosier. They are lighter and hook up great.

Im in Redwood city. So Sears is 1 hour 20 mins Sac 2 plus hours. I just sold My dedicated drag car and trailer so its a driver. Im not so worried about wear I want traction. Ive always run slicks so that's why I ask about drag radial or a dot race tire. Also I have spare wheels so should I stay at 17 inch or smaller.

17s are the most popular here. You wouldnt have a problem driving on the freeway with the hoosiers on as long as its dry. I did it all the time with my old hoosiers and skinnies. I just choose to change the drag setup at the track now to save some life of the tire. I have another set for when I'm lazy and dont want to do the swap at the track. Just need to be careful with the launch I've seen a few c5's split their differentials at the track.

Yah I forgot about that rear end. Im used to solid rears. But even with the radials its going to be a soft launch. Just not going to be getting any air like I used to. How hard can you push the launch without damage and what kind of 60s can you get without worry of damage.
If any of that make sense.

Well its different for every car. Theres no set numbers for what they can or cant handle. If you are going to be taking it easy on the launch and just going after it hooks it should be ok. Its when they get shocked from the launch a lot of times when they go out.
