Default Its wild to meet so many from CF here in Norcal that dont visit this section

So the other day I was looking to sell some wheels. I met a interested party that seen my ad in the C7 FS section. We get to talking and he wasn't even aware of this area. That actually happens a lot. I am just shocked by that. I come here first when looking for something. LOL

There are many on the form that do not realize there are regional sections like this and many other categories about almost everything Corvette related including painting.

Hope your getting settled in with the new car.

Things have changed. About nine years ago I went on a cruise that I believe was mostly organized on the Northern California section. People knew each other by their forum names or pictures of their Corvettes.

I don't post in this section much but I do read it. I went on the rainbow run which I never would have known about if I didn't check in here every now and then.

I organized several GTGs starting around 13 years ago. The first was in 2003 at Jakes in Saratoga, then Jakes in Sunnyvale. Winter came and people stopped coming. Then, we met at Lori's Diner in Cupertino for a year ..... until they closed. Then, we moved to American Diner in Sunnyvale for about a year ..... until nobody showed up anymore - the last one was Flaagen and me. It seemed like there were too many others things going on, so I gave up. But, I'm proud that I brought a bunch of people together that are still friends! Here's some pictures from Lori's and American Diner.

American Diner went out of business and is now Black Bear Diner. I think every parking spot has a warning sign about not leaving valuables in your car.

The dynamic of the corvette owner has a changed in the last few years from what I've seen, with C5's and C6's becoming very affordable. But I'm still here teddy

The norcal section used to be the place.

Last cruise I went on was the the hooters HWY 17 / Coast cruise. Back then the Synergy Dyno days were going on also with the synergy girls walking around.

I've met a few corvette guys in the past few months and maybe 5 out of 30 visit this forum.

LOL There are still some of the same folks around here and a ton of new guys which I think it great. 5+ years ago it was more like a party in this section and we were looking for the next spot. Plenty of drama to HAHA. Today its more business but folks like Richie have kept the family somewhat close. In any case the banana and I will be in Rio Sat to see everyone. See you all then have a good week.

I remember those days. I still have an autographed picture of the Synergy girls.

Yep, things certainly have changed. This section used to be where everybody came to talk and find out everything they needed to know as well as find out what was going on in our area. We used to have good events every 1-2 months or so. When I had access to the servers email lists I could contact everybody that didn't frequent this section. Turnouts were great.. 120 cars and 160 CORVETTE FORUM MEMBERS would show.

Once that was taken away it was tough to get the word out... then things really changed and by the act of a large group of people. Things were way out of control and I stopped doing events... I won't get into details...

I'm still here and check in to see what's going on. Glad to see some familiar faces in this thread.

Here's a shot when only 60% of the total cars had arrived.

I still remember vetterdstr C5 back when I had one.

I left the Corvette family for a while because I needed 4 seats. Now they drive so I got another Corvette but went older.

Hey DDawson! I love the car in your avatar! That is a real beauty! I still have my car and it's ready to run anytime. After the third rebuild of the whole car it puts out 717 to the rear wheels and runs great. I have other stuff to drive so I'm lucky I didn't have to make any changes.

Take it easy...

That Hooters cruise was my first cruise. I remember a CHP motorcycle officer followed a guy into the meet area, but then he stopped traffic on 17, so we could exit as a group.

Vetterdstr, actually put on the very first event that really brought us all together. We caravaned from San Jose to Monterey to Mike Albov's restaurant. Simply a great memory.
I also put on several runs to Yosemite and Death Valley
