Default My C7 was stolen in Dublin

Well, last week my car was in for service at Dublin Chevrolet & it was stolen on tuesday night 1/10/17, right from the lot.

Called onstar, and they were unable to connect to the car. So obviously these thieves knew what they were doing.

If anyone happens to see an LT1 go up for sale locally, or any other major part, please let me know.

I will be investing in a 3rd party GPS locator for my next vehicle.

License Plate # - R4VETTE

I doubt anyone will see it around but if so, please let me know.

Isn't that about the 3rd time in the last year that Dublin has had customer vehicles stolen off the lot at night? Last time I think it was a couple C6 Z06's and a ZL1 Camaro in the same night. Supposedly behind a locked gate, with cameras and nobody ever got caught.

Sad bit of news. Hopefully it will be returned unharmed but if not good luck with your insurance company. What does the dealership have to say about it? If RichieRich is correct that is not good for them at all.

Good luck.

That sucks. I hope your insurance claim is quick and uneventful.

I also remember this happening in the past from this dealership. My guess is that it's an inside job and I would never take my Corvette to this dealer for service.

with Boat Racer. This is the second Vette that I know of stolen from Dublin Chev....behind locked gates. There is a thread from a year ago or a little older. Several Camaros prior to that. Has to be an inside job. Don't trust them at all. Sorry to tell you, but you should have taken it to Rich.

I was thinking the same thing. This has to be the 2nd 3rd time in the last year or so. What a joke.
Headed Abel makes sure every Vette is locked up in the garage b4 anyone goes home.

Many cars got stolen from Dublin Chevy.. there were some speculations that it is an inside job.

This has been happening there for about 4 or 5 years now. The oldest 1 I know of was an 09 Z but it was recovered and returned to the owner.

I bought my Z there used and it was a DMV night mirror! After many trips and calls to the DMV and the dealer ship. I learned they had the wrong plates and tags on the car they sold me.

I stay far away from Dublin Chevy, GMC & Cadillac.

The car cannot be hotwired or driven off the lot without the Fob. Either it was inside job or it was towed off. I would check and see if the dealership still has the fob. Also, I would contact Dublin PD and let their investigators know that the vehicle can not be driven without the Fob just in case that they are not aware of that fact. That information more than likely will help steer their investigation down the right path.

More than likely, the car is in a container on a ship by now.

Locking up and securing these Corvettes are a must.

That does suck... Dang that does not even happen here in South FL. Inside job for sure, that car is in a container on it's way to South America.

I've read all of the stories and quite frankly am a little worried.

It will be a week tomorrow, and allstate won't even get into the value until 2 weeks have passed.

We shall see what happens. But it is a major f***ing bummer. This was the first car i've ever owned new, and realistically i'll probably have to buy a comparable used C7.

F@CK MAN... The text the other night was a real shocker. We jumped into the C7 game together and hell bought in the same month. I hope all is well. Don't settle on anything outside of a Z06. If I could have done it all over I would have a C7Z. Best of luck my friend and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

With the track record that Dublin Chev. has, I wouldn't take my wife's Yugo there..

From what I've observed, they have the national record.

As mentioned above, Abel is the place..

Why would they steal a Corvette that is so distinctive?

I am sorry for all the aggravation the OP must be going through.

With the port of Oakland so close it was probably in a 20' container with in 1/2 hour of the time it was off of Dublin Chevy's lot.It had to be an inside job.The battery was probably disconnected very soon after it was stolen.
