Does anyone else use Noxzema to relieve a sunburn?
It's something my Mom used to do when I was little and I continued to do through the years. It helps remove the heat, it really works well. I put the plain Noxzema on my skin thats hot and sore when I go to bed. By the next morning the heat and tenderness is greatly reduced. Does anyone else do this?
I have been doing it quite a bit lately since I moved to AZ and bought a Supercharged Miata as my Daily Driver, did I mention I'm Irish and German. Yes thats right, plenty of Noxzema has been used in this house, even using sunscreen.
I have actually also used the Aloe Vera lotion, fresh aloe from a plant and the Udder cream. They all work quite well too, but the Udder Cream is a little pungent smelling for me.
It's funny, I hadn't used Noxzema for some time, plus I quit smoking last year so I can now smell again, well point being I used it again last month for the first time in years and just opening the jar and BAM...........it took me back 30 years. Memories long forgotten washed over me, it's weird the way smells more than anything else do that with old memories, especially old girlfriends perfumes too. Some woman will walk past wearing it and I'm Overwhelmed by old memories out of nowhere...........weird. Yet strangely enjoyable.
and i've tried noxema too. vinegar works faster and seems to turn it into a tan more efficiently. just take a gallon jug into the shower with you. pour it all over and let it set for several seconds before turning the shower on. then i follow up with some 100% aloe gel when I get outta the shower.
if it last more than a day i just follow up with regular lotion for the peeling. But the vinegar takes the sting right out immediately.
