Default No facial hair policy...

Hey -

I am interviewing for a new job, it is a sales trainer position for a local company, during my 2nd interview they asked me of I was against shaving my goatee (not sure I spelled that right). They have a no facial hair policy at work. I have never heard of this before - is this new?

Here is me - the guy on the right...

Thoughts???

Some companies have that policy, and personally I would never even consider working at any of those companies. Next they will tell you when you can take a sheeit and how you should brush your teeth.
Fck them.

Oh yea - I agree - I have no problem shaving...just wondering if this common. First I ever heard of it...

They also have a no-smoking policy - and that means no smoking before work, during breaks, or during any company functions - I like that part a lot!

You could wear a goatee-net instead.

I'd tell them to pound sand and then grow that goat into a full beard. My boss at my first position out of school had a beard and said he grew it when he was in his early 20's to look older. I have been employing the same strategy for 5 years and won't be changing anytime soon.

Yep,alot of places have certain rules they make for the employees.
Facial hair is sometimes a no,same with long hair on men.

I knew a guy who became Big Boss in Sales, and he had some tattoos on his arms...they always wore suits and long sleeve shirts so you'd never know..

That being said,In the hot summers,he made all employees, not sporting tattoos, wear the long sleeve shirts simply because HE could not..

It could be that they simply think you look like an idiot with a circa 2001 goatee.

The first job I had tried to enforce that policy on me.

They hired me while i had ridiculous sideburns and a goatee, so I told them no.

Luckily I was the most popular with the customers so admin didn't do anything.

No facial hair and no smoking? I don't have the former or do the latter, but I'd have a hard time going to work for a company that wanted to dictate that kind of shyt to me. What will you do when they tell you that you are no longer allowed to consume alcohol (liver cancer, you know), cholesterol must be 110 or lower (heart attacks, you know) and your car must not be capable of going more than 80 mph (really, who needs so go any faster safely?)?
