Default YouTube > MP3 or someother sound format

What's the best way to save the sound tracks off of YouTube?

Besides plugging a recorder into the sound port of my computer.

I've got the site and software to save and play them as .FLV files.

You Tube? Inherently the sound/video quality sucks because of server space requirements.

If its on youtube is it still considered rare?

I've used zuneit...worth checking out. Its used to create playable files from youtube to a zune. It basically just transcodes the files to .wmv files.

TubeSock is great for capturing YouTube vidoes.
I do not know if it will do only audio, however.

That's a good poing

I guess a better way of putting it, is that YouTube is the only place I've seen it.

A lot of upcomming/unsigned artists put their stuff on YouTube.

Free Hi-Q Recorder is a free recorder that'll record any sound your computer makes. The pay version of the software allows higher bit-rate recordings.

I've used Free Hi-Q Recorder and Audacity to make and edit MP3s for ye olde Ipod. Not the best quality, but depending on your equipment and the environment it'll play in, maybe good enough?

Music that I care about, I buy. Serious. It's only fair that the artists you enjoy should be rewarded for their work, no?
