Default FedEx Delivered someone else's package to me! But where's mine?

.............So I am awaiting a package of detail goodies and it was suppose to be delivered on tuesday. Well I get home on Tuesday and sure enough there's a package at my door, but wait a minute it is a box from bodybuilding.com.......I check the label and it is at the wrong address so I being the nice guy deliver it to the rightful owners house and leave it on his porch. I get back home to check my tracking # and it says delivered...... I call FedEx and it seems the driver swapped packages and delivered mine to another 611 address but they do not know which one......... great it has been 2 days and no package at my door and I feel like someone most likely took it and are now using my detail products on their vehicles..... I really needed this package for this weekend details I have scheduled and I am bumped out...... There goes my Leather Masters Kit, 1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium Interior Cleaner, Swissvax Wheel Brush. I am guessing it could be at this one address but I have no luck having someone home yet. BAAHHHH worst part was the package I received was labeled for a apartment! and I live in a house...........how easy can one jobs get! I am heated. And of course FedEx wants me to do the leg work........lame

that sucks!!

I was gonna suggest opening the mystery package to see if it contains something more interesting than what you were expecting ( ), but since you said you were waiting on detail goodies... I think there's not much else I would want instead, either.

Hopefully it resolves itself without too much more hassle.

It's being handled all wrong. While you were trying to be a nice guy, the thing to do would have been call FedEx and tell them you have the wrong box and let them come get it.

And regardless of what you did, THEY are the ones who should be doing the leg work. You sit back, wait, and if it does not show up you file a claim for what THEY lost. It should not be up to you at all, that's what they are paid to do.

Unless things have changed, the claim gets filed by the person/company who shipped it, not the person/company who was to have received it...

Yea I should of called and just had them pick it up but since this guy's apartment was only 2 mins away I figured heck let me do a good deed, guess it bit me in the ****. And if nothing shows up the company has to file the claim not me, I just hope I don't lose my money on this.

Bummer that sucks. Hopefully get your detail stuff soon. Just like everything else in life the simplest things never work out the way they should.

I thought the same thing since I workout 4 times a week and have my own private gym in my basement but I knew the guy was most likely wanting his products just as much as I was. I did leave a note with my phone # so hopefully he returns the favor and gives me my package or I will have to go through the company to file a claim. I just do not want nothing to show for the money I've spent.

You needed that other package as proof that the wrong package was delivered to you. Now you got nothing but a tracking number that says delivered. The driver is going to swear that a package was delivered to you. You needed that misdelivered package as leverage. Now you are at the mercy of the person who got your package to do the right thing or you are fricked.

It was prolly a box of illegal steroids and the feds will kick in your door at 3am.

I hate Fed Ex. In all likely hood your only hope is the company that sent it to you will remedy the problem.

I got a hold of the guy living at the house and he gave up my package. Sweet! Everything worked out next time I think I will just hold onto a misdelivered package.

Good that you got your stuff - But wonder if the guy would have even tried to get ahold of you without you contacting him.

Thought of the film, "Castaway." glad it didn't end up on some isolated island.
