Default Cigarette prices in TN

My Wife and I are going on our first "real" vacation since we have been together (7 years). She tends to be a little cheap (thrifty) and is concerned about the cost of a carton of cigarettes in TN. Since we are only going to be there, (Nashville), 4 days, I don't care but she wants to know if we could buy a few cartons there to bring back for our own use.
Please no lectures about smoking, we have heard them all.

OOPS. I forgot.

Long story but that Vette is in Kathy's name, and the Cavalier and Blazer is too.

I know in Ohio a lot of people who smoke buy them in KY maybe that is your better choice.

State excise tax is $0.62 a pack. They'll be a tad bit cheaper than NH.

Cheap taxes in TN, KY and MO are why we spend so much time on cigarette smuggling in IL. However, prices have been going up.

Another question is, make sure YOUR state does not have laws that preclude your bringing in "a few cartons." Many states have laws regarding maximum personal use transport into the state, often 10 packs.

was going to say this to you can import 5 cartons per in IL. for personal use but after that they can get you for smuggling.

We brought back 10 cartons to VA from our cruise out of Miami a few weeks ago.

Never really thought about smuggling into VA….smuggling into the country crossed my mind a few times.
10 cartons= $200.

I have one of my employees who travels down there every two months (for leisure/family stuff). At $32 per carton vs Michigans $66 per carton - I usually have him stock up.

Me and the wife where on a crusie ship that was selling boxes of cartons for $25.00 a pop, you had a limit of 3 a person. Could have made a killing selling that crap on the corner for $6.00 a pack. They only had marboro red and the gold one, whatever they are. I know guys that are quitting because of the price. When gas was high he would say ok this week i'll fill the tank but next week i'm smoking.

As long as you're in TN you may as well cross into KY where they are cheaper.

I'm surprised no one has provided a lecture (yet) about the evils/dangers of smoking even though you made it clear they are not welcome. Always happens...sometimes from former smokers who are 100 lbs. overweight.
