Mine say, DON'T TOUCH! I AIN'T GOT NO PROBLEM GOIN BACK TO PRISON. Kevin Paddock at HP Performance Corvettes in Mundelein, IL came up with the idea.

I always thought that these signs were unnecessary seeing that not touching and respecting someone elses car in a car show environment is just generally understood.

I agree, but this is a general understanding with car people....Not everyone looking at cars at shows are really car people...

You would also think that people would not touch cars here at the Musuem, but they do...AND many of the ones we catch are car people...

Please don't touch my beautiful body; I'm not that kind of a car.

Have fun looking. I was at a show this weekend and all of the "witty" signs were decidedly unfunny, without exception. Anything more than a "Please do not touch" was equal parts negative stereotype and reasonable request.

I've seen this all too often at cruise nights too. I once saw a big azz redneck woman LEANING on a '69 dodge charger daytona. Wasn't even my car and I was ready to scream.

You would think common sense would kick in at some point 'if it's not your car, don't touch it!'

A friend of mines ex wife had to drop a car off at my shop, I can not stand her.

Well I walk out of the shop into the lot and she is sitting on the Aluminium front fender of my Porsche, I tell her to get her *** off my car, she said "I just knew you were going to say that."

Me, very upset at this point, "well why in F$%k is your fat, ugly *** sitting on my fender in the first place if you knew I would have a problem with that."

It got sporty for a few minutes, I doubt she will ever set foot on my lot again.

You obviously haven't been to some of the car shows I have been to......From the ill-mannered little brats with their popcicle laden little grubby paws, to their parents who don't give a sht, to the others who just generally don't respect ANYTHING...Setting their crap on top of your car to dig in their purse or diaper bag, or just leaning against your car with their "Oh, I'm a big Harley Badass" chains scraping all over your car, to the old ladies who use your car as a friggin walker to get between rows of cars, to the "I know all about these carz" morons who gleefully tell you that they had an '83 Vette, that was the fastest thing ever built, to the fatass trailer park evictees who just wanna touch the pretty, shiny paintjob.................

...Uh sorry.

I had one on my 68 many, many moons ago that was in quasi-German speak. Something about "don't touchen der fiberglassen...mit spitzensparken..." I wish I still had that around somewhere or could remember it.

One would think this to be true. I took my kids to a car show and they know not to touch the cars. My FIL, who has owned show cars in the past and is a former NADS record holder...finger print goobered some guys old Plymouth (it was like a 30's hot rod) and I have never before been so embarressed. I walked away (awaiting a confrontation) and the owner was nice enough not to say anything and just took out a rag and windex to clean his window as I watched from a distance.
