Default Why are DMV employees so rude?

Isn't it just another customer servicing job? Some are there because they need to replace an I.D card, pay to renew plate sticker etc...

I go there and first off the place is filled to the rim like the county jail day room. So the guy asks what I am here for and after I tell him he prints out a # and doesn't even look to where I need to go. Just points with his thumb behind his head and says to have a seat right over "there"

Then their #'s are messed up. Goes from like B231 to I812 to J846 so you have to pay attention otherwise your f'd. I get up there and the lady has major attitude. No hi, how are you, just says yes with her eyebrows raised like I interrupted her. Tells me how much and sends me on my way with no thank you/bye. God forbid you tell her 178pnds then say no wait 175 comes the heavy exhaling of her breath and punches the keyboard hard.

Any of you have a place whether it's a restaurant, store, DMV where the people who work there are just miserable?

They believe in the old saying. “Just because were civil servants it does not say we will be civil!”

The employees are so rude because a majority of the people they have to deal with are practically inmates from the county jail.

Because every day, they realize that they work for the DMV.
Which means they were too fat to be a crossing guard at their local elementary school.

Because there is no competition for their services.
Soon, the healthcare system will be run by these people too.

I gotta say the few times I have been to the DMV here I have had no trouble, been in several places in Dallas depending on what was convenient at the time and now twice in Plano and never had a single problem.

It was the same way in Louisiana, in fact when I went to get my motorcycle plate the lady asked if I had ridden the bike so she could get a look at it. This was a small town but downtown Dallas was just about as nice.

Because they have to deal with same bumb *** people day in and day out.

Mr. Smith: I want to register my car.
DMV: May I see the title?
Mr. Smith: I need a title?
DMV: Yes.

Day in, day out....same stupid people.

In Woodstock, Il, where I go to get my license renewed, the people working there are extremely nice.

Hate to bring race into this, but if you get a fat black lady, you are 90% sure it's gonna be nasty experience. When I used to go to Chicago to do anything there, it was nasty people most of the time.

Because they are government and union ***** entitled to their jobs from your paycheck.

They and their boss= impose their will upon you= and you are their servant and they, your master.

Get used to it and get over it, it is what you voted for, the fututre and the vision for hope and change.

Bow and pay homage to the oppressor of your ballot.

The american dream is now the american nightmare.

Now 45% of those -employed in america- are in union or government rank and file- prepare to be programmed by your elected. government.

Kiss the hand of your king.

The DMV is one of the few places the general public actually comes into contact with a government employee and their work ethic. If you like them, your going to love Obamacare.

The people in my DMV are the same way. I suspect it is probably because of all the ignorant people they have to deal with - as someone else said.

I hate going in there because I am always afraid i won't have something I need. -And if you don't have that certain something, you can forget whatever it was you came for. I swear, those people will not bend the rules or be nice about anything. And who could ever forget the waiting lines.
