So we are at Pebble Beach. I see Wayne Carini from Chasing Classic Cars. I take a quick pic of him and the tall blonde in front puts her arm up to her face at the same time. I take another shot and she waves her hand in front of his face all disgusted.
Now, I understand not wanting to be bothered and I was basically nowhere near him, but y'know, Wayne, you aren't Jay Leno. Maybe you should keep UP the whole celebrity thing while your 15 minutes are still going on?
I posted the 2 pics at his Facebook site and asked if he was in the Witness Protection program or something. They took the postings down.
You know, I met R. Lee Ermey at a NASCAR event which i was assigned to work. The man could not have been nicer. Talked with my whole team for about 1/2 hr and was happy to take as many pictures with us as we wanted.
That's the difference between a DB glorified mechanic and a gentleman...
I've enjoyed watching the few episodes I've seen - - and he does seem to get into some cool cars - -but his success in selling them for the prices he hopes to get seems to be a disconnect. Pretty unassuming shop up in Connecticut.
I wouldn't think his level of celebrity is such that he'd be anything but a decent guy - - that's too bad. I suspect his "15 minutes" will be relatively and justifiably brief if that's his attitude.
Let me be the first to say judging by the checkerd flag in the background, the wind was blowing. Maybe she was adjusting her hair in the wind. If she didn't like you taking pictures, I think she would have given you a bad glance.
And if the girl really is blocking your shots, why pick on Wayne, and not the girl? Unless you know she is under orders from Wayne, imo, it's not Wayne to blame.
