Alright, this will be the last thread I create about this stuff for a while, I've got a ton of work coming in so I won't have too much time soon...for a while anyway!
This is a Sig P225 police trade-in that came in not too long ago. I love these. They are a very nice pistol and can be had for cheap, at around $350 for the PD trade-in. Of course, being a trade-in they show some wear. We took this one and cleaned it up, bead-blasted it and refinished the metal.
I took the "after" pics a bit too early, as there was still some oil seeping out of the controls from assembly so it looks a bit splotchy...I'll see if I have some time to get cleaner pics on Monday.
Here are a couple pics of it right after we took it out of the box:
And here are the pics after it was re-finished and assembled. I think it needs some nice wood grips to set it off, but that'll be up to the buyer...
We slightly polished the sides of the slide to give it a more gloss look, and left the rest with a matte finish
Looks great. My Sig 226 is a Police trade in Ive owned for 10+ years that looks like the before pics but still shoots great. What would you charge me to refinish mine? PM prefered.

They are one of the best buys out there for sure. The only drawback is the magazine prices...they are high. I still don't know why Mecgar doesn't make a mag for it...they make them for just about every other model of Sig out there.

Keep an eye on Buds, J&G and AIM Surplus. They get them in on occasion, but they go out FAST! The three we got in came from Buds.
I bought a Glock 22 trade-in with night sights, 3-15rd mags for $329 out the door.
Police trade-ins are, IMO, the best value you can get. Many people see teh holster wear and think the gun has been shot to death. Actually, they are usually shot very little. If you don't mind the cosmetic looks of it, trade-ins are the way to go.
About a week after I bought my new 228 it fell out of my inside pocket and hit the concrete curb real good. Out two nice gouges in the slide and scratched the bluing. I was mad as hell at myself. I hadnt found a nice holster for it yet and shouldnt have been carring that way. Anyway, I called Sig to see if they could do anything. They said sent it them and they'll have a look. Had them put on the Sig lite sights on at the time also. A couple weeks later they returned the slide looking good as new. They fixed the gouges and removed all the scratches and reblued the entire slide. Charged me only for the trijicon sites. Not a dime for the repair work. Customer satisfaction was off the sharts for this guy.
