Default Can not breath HELP!

For going on two years now i have had a hard time breathing thru my nose some times i feel like i can't catch my breath .Xrays shows lungs clear o2 sat 98% ,been to three different doctors .I've tried nasal cort allegra flonase netty pot claritin inhalers etc.... The only thing that gives me some relief is Afrin and even then its only minor relief {I only use it maybe 4 days a month] i know that Afrin will cause reverse actions if used more than that .Read every thing i could find on the web about this subject .Any ideas ??

You did the right thing coming to off-topic for help. I am a brain surgeon and rocket scientist so I can't help but I'm sure someone will chime in shortly.

Unless you have some sort of deviated septum you might as well learn to be a mouth breather.

the key to good breathing is to make sure you only put 1 finger in each nostril at a time.

I had the same problem for about ten years. Could not get any air through the left side of my nose and could only get a small amount through my right side. It caused me all kinds of problems especially when I slept. I'd wake op in the morning and my throat would be so dry it would hurt. My problem was caused by a deviated septum, probably from a sports injury when I was young. It just kept getting worse. After 10 years of suffering I had surgery and my only regret is I didn't have it done sooner. I breathe fine now. 100% on the left. About 90% on the right but I feel great!

Try going to the chiropractor. Same thing happened to me and I was using allergy pills for 3 months straight just to clear up my sinuses. Couldn't catch my breath and lungs were okay. Went to the chiropractor to fix my back and he took care of my breathing problems as well.

Serious. Give it a try.

If you're still having trouble, you haven't seen the right doctor. I say this for two reasons. One, the doctors you've seen are no good and two, you've haven't seen the one with the right specialty.
Bottom line, change doctors

Totally agree.

OP - Has your doctor ruled out a deviated septum? Has he talked to you about that being a possibility at all? If not, might be time to seek out a new physician.

Speaking of health problems (I realize you were being facetious above), did you ever try out those vitamins I told you about?

Don't forget what I told you a few weeks about trying to negotiate, since you're a self pay (cash paying) patient. All they can say is no, but it's worth a shot.
