This isn't looking good.

They'll suspend him for the Idaho and Duke game, and won't let him do pregame warmups for the BCS Championship.

If he's accused/charged it's immediate indefinite suspension. FSU policy.

Average QB yes. A lot of delays if he's a star.

They have sacked star players in the past. They don't care who it is. It's school policy.

On a side note:

If they go to the BCS Championship game, this star won't be suspended because not enough evidence to convict him until after the season is over. The Universities and the NCAA are as crooked as politicians.

At FSU if you are charged with a felony you are instantly suspended.

He gave them the DNA sample, so it seems he must have known this would happen. This is taking on the look of a classic "he said...she said". If it truly was assault, the accuser really screwed up by pursuing it, then not pursuing, then pursuing it again.

Very tough to sort out guilt or innocence in such cases. Winston could be the object of a money grubbing witch hunt or he could be a dispicable predator. I don't expect to be able to make a judgement on that through media reports, however.

According to the report, a Florida state crime lab determined that the chances that the DNA in the woman’s underwear is a match for someone other than Winston was one in 2.2 trillion
so you're saying there's a chance

This is a very good reason why it's a good idea to secretly record every sex session you have when you're famous/rich/etc. Just don't release the recordings unless necessary.

Longest Yard III?

It's interesting that Winston's attorney initially just said that his client denied the accusation, without really saying whether he was denying everything, or just saying that the sex was consensual. But the initial denial focused on the fact that the initial police report said that the perpetrator was 5'9" to 5'11" tall, whereas Winston is 6'4". So that made it seem like Winston was denying that it was him, at all. But then after the news of the DNA match leaked out, NOW the attorney is saying that the sex was consensual. Seems fishy.... In any case, with the accused's latest claim, the DNA is only a necessary pre-requisite...

At the same time, the victim's supposed "on again, off again" stance on pursuing the case doesn't seem that relevant, either, especially if the story about her being "discouraged" by a police detective from pursuing the case pans out.
