Default HELP - Need help transporting a dog

I'm looking into rescuing a 7 month old GSD from being euthanized.

Only problem is I'm in VA, and she's in TX.

Anyone traveling from Dallas towards VA later this week? I could certainly use the help.

Please post here if you can help.

Thanks.

There are a number of transport groups on Facebook - in fact I help out with a couple. Give them a try and see if they can organize something. I'm willing to help out through TN.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/353594254744667/

or StoryTellersExpress.com

They have over 1,000 members in the US that aid in rescue transport.

I hope you find transport. That dog looks very sad in his/her current circumstances.

you'd be amazed how many animals are saved. locally, move 20-30 animals a week, usually on Saturday, 200- 300 miles, might take a couple weeks to get to the end destination but it gets done. locally, it runs all on donations. when the van needs work there a mechanic or two that donates their time.

contact where ever the dog is now. those people will know of a transport system, if they say they don't. contact vets or the AKC in that area, somebody will know about transport.

She is saved apparently. Just waiting to see if it's us or another family. Her time was up tomorrow. Someone dropped her off because she was bigger than they thought

wish she was up north (NJ/NY area) because I would transport her. First it is commendable what you are doing. I did the same thing in August. Rescued an AMSTAFF from Tennessee. With that said, I transported a puppy from Ohio to NJ via airplane (American Air I believe). Many airlines will do this. Shots for dog, pay air fare and they are then brought to a special area in Airport where you go and get them. It is about $300 but worth it……maybe someone else traveling east? That is the only way I know of….but best of luck saving this helpless girl.

PS….a shelter from here brought him from Tennessee…..try a local shelter as well…..

This dog isn't a cute little puppy anymore....Let's drop if off and let them kill it.

I hope these people never get another pet. There should be some way to blacklist people like this.

Good luck with the adoption

Breeders ship dogs all the time by air. This time of year works well. Mid summer is too hot. The dogs are transported in the cargo hold of commercial airliners.

I'm near Memphis, about 2 hours from Little Rock. I could possibly drive a leg for you? Depends on the schedule.
