Default 2008 Viper pricing!

SUBJECT: 2008 MY INTRODUCTORY PRICING - DODGE VIPER SRT10

2008 PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS

With improved airflow, bigger displacement and with variable valve
timing achieved from the innovative CamInCam technology, one can
see how the '08 Dodge Viper's new 8.4L V10 achieves a 90 horsepower
increase from last year, but would you believe that it also gets
better fuel economy?! The gas guzzler tax actually goes down for
2008 and results with '08 pricing very similar to the 2006 model
year. Including this $2,100 gas guzzler tax charge and an $850
destination charge, the new 600 HP Dodge Viper SRT10 Roadster price
only goes up by $350 over 2006 and the Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe
actually goes down by $150! The base MSRP, before destination and
gas guzzler tax charges, is $83,145 for the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10
Roadster and $83,895 for the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe.

This amazing new powertrain is what will convince the Viper
enthusiast that now is the time to make that dream purchase, but
once that decision is made, all they are going to talk about is
what combination of the eight exterior colors, five stripe colors
and five interior combinations for 2008, is right for them. Be
sure to send your customers to the 360 degree exterior and interior
visualizers on the SRT web site where they can try to check out
every one of the seemingly endless number of possible
combinations: DriveSRT - Dodge Viper SRT10 - Colors & 360

Lastly, there are two final tidbits of Viper news for you. Starting
in August, the order system will include the newly available
"Protection Group" option package. This group, with the ADB sales
code, includes embroidered floor mats and a premium Weathershield
fabric car cover, both featuring the Viper logo. Also, be sure to
check your local newsstands in early September, because all of the
top enthusiast magazines just had their first drives with the
'08 car and we are expecting very glowing reviews. Look out for
that Snakeskin Green!

Wow, With a loaded Z06 approaching $80k that will make alot of Z purchasers think twice. IMHO the paint on the Viper is worth $5k more over the Z. The Viper will always be more of a weekend warrior, but then again i bet half or more of the Z's out there are as well. Can't wait to see some track numbers.

Have also heard that ASC is doing a Viper for DC with 650HP just in case the Corvette SS is just too fast for the 08 Viper! The 08 Viper is priced $350 more then the 06 model with 90 HP increase! That's a LOT of HP for very little markup! Only wish the Z06 or new SS had a more distinct body, then the regular C6!

$15k over a C6 Z06 with less than 100hp difference is still alot of coin....and you Chevy dealers had a markup on the Z...bet these Vipers see almost $95K on the showroom floor....hell Ford marked up their S281 Saleens with the high HP pkg to almost $80K......I could be wrong but time will tell...

Default Chrysler rumor mill update!

"The "Phoenix" engine program (new V6s, developed with Mercedes) is being greatly expanded, to include V8s and V10s, including TURBO V10s."

"There will be a run of "HO" Vipers with truly mad levels of horsepower. Budget has been approved, no details on timing. Turbos may be involved. Expect AT LEAST 800 hp.""The Chrysler supercar is back on the table. Working name is "Corsair" (not ME 412, thank heavens). Proposed motive power is a quad-turbo V10. (Viper HO motor may be twin turbo; unclear). Target horsepower is "50% above HO Viper", so way over 1000."

"Viper will get a dual-clutch trans in 09 or 10. Unclear whether this will replace the 6spd or be an option in the near term."
