Default Audi S5 vs Cadillac CTS

Talk to me!

Comparisons from those whom have driven them.
Just interested in the CTS it has AWD and more commuter friendly.

aka NOT the CTS-V

I know it's pointless to say that as people will still throw it in...

the s5 is a coupe vs the 4 door cts. Two different cars. The coupe is gorgeous, quicker, handles better and costs 10 to 15,000 more. (340hp)

I have a d.i. awd cts and love it. If I didn't need the 4 doors for my toddler I'd take the s5 if $ was not an issue. The regular a5 is more comparable with the cts $ wise

I have to agree with Ted.... you are really talking about 2 totally different cars so making an apple to apple comparison is a bit difficult. Comparing the CTS to the A6 would probably be the best comparison. If having 4 doors isnt a must for you then hands down go with the A5/S5.

I have the sport suspension awd 300hp CTS and its a great four door sports sedan ...(about 40 grand)

That said..the S5 is a sharp 2 door V8 powered sport coupe..and costs quite a few dollars more..(about 60 grand)

You have to decide which you want..

A four door car or a two door car..

I chose the four door and its a great everyday vehicle.

I definitely like the 2 door S5 audi though......(very sharp)

Good luck deciding..

My best friend has owned the S5 for well over a year now and I have driven it on numerous occasions. Very clean car, nice body lines but I feel it is a little pricey for being an Audi. He was the first on in Nor Cal to have this car and he paid an upwards of $68k. I am seeing them now at Carmax, under 10k miles and priced around $52k.. Still a very large difference in cost to the Cadillac. I will say this, the AWD for the S5 makes it feel a lot slower than it actually is. Just my personal opinion.

52$ isn't to far off from the CTS-V V2

Except when you add the $$$ to convert the CTS-V to AWD...

I have driven the Cadillac at my work. I was extremely impressed by it. Very comfortable and good performance.
