Goodbye Corvette, hello ...
... ZL1.
Not sure how the community feels about it but couldn't resist. Traded in the '08 coupe today for a 2012 Camaro ZL1.
What do you think? Anyone else do this or tempted?

ZL1 v Vette
Congrats on the ZL1 - everything I've read sounds absolutely amazing regarding the Z --- and I can understand wanting something different now & then, too. I dont think you're alone in cross-shopping the two, either, particularly with the incredible handling tweaks Chevy did to the ZL1. Congrats-- post pics!

Found this.
gm’s oshawa plant in ontario, canada officially launched regular production of the 2012 chevrolet camaro zl1 yesterday.
The heart of the camaro zl1 is a supercharged 6.2 liter engine rated at 580 horsepower and 754nm of torque making it the most-powerful production camaro ever. The lsa features a roots-style blower with an efficient four-lobe rotor set and compact intercooler.
The zl1 also features a standard dual-mode exhaust system, with vacuum-actuated valves in the exhaust pipes for a refined exhaust note at low speeds as well as a free-flowing system for peak performance. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
The camaro zl1 coupe will go on sale in the spring of 2012, as a 2012 model. The camaro zl1 convertible will go on sale in the summer of 2012, as a 2013 model. Pricing for the camaro zl1 convertible will be announced later.

No, not tempted, not at all. The ZL1 has recieved good reviews from all that have tested it, so I'll reserve judgement until I drive one. That said, I like it better than the SS versions, I've driven a few of those and come away unimpressed, but that extra 150+ HP and refinement should make a big difference. But, would I trade my Vette for one? Simple answer, No. But good luck and enjoy, just watch outfor those '13 Shelby GT 500's that will soon be lurking out there!
