I've heard TX has taken them off the street, is this true, and what about kit cars?

An update to an old thread-

Here is a 2015 video of my 2012 Ariel Atom demonstrator/company car getting the holeshot at Hallett Motor Raceway. Mine is the only car in the open-wheel final that has two seats and DOT tires.

Big fun!

Wow, it looks like you laid it on them.

Back when you gave me a ride in your Atom the dollar was worth about 80 cents to the euro. Now our dollar is worth about 90 cents to the euro. So has the stronger dollar (or weaker euro) had any effect on the Atom prices?

The American manufacturer of the Ariels are making almost everything here in the states, now, so I don't think the exchange rate has much to do with current pricing. It would have made a difference years ago, when a lot of the parts came from overseas.

I do have a preowned 2013 Ariel SRA(SpecRaceAtom, the race-only, non-street-legal model) that won the last two SRA series yearly championships, and has the track record at Virginia International Raceway, for all three track configurations. It is here in Wichita Falls, and priced at $41,699, the lowest priced Ariel we've ever had, and it has a lot of wheels and tires, camera, data recorder, and options that go with it.

Good to hear from you again-

Cheers,

Thanks for clarifying that with additional information.

That sounds like a killer deal on that race ready model.

I've had owning one of these on my bucket list ever since my ride with you. One day I will own one, but it will need to be a street legal model. I want to be able to have fun with it any day the weather permits.

I did spend quite a bit of time on the streets in and around Wichita Falls for the first few years I had my first one- (Jay Leno took #1 and I took #72 out of the first American-built Chevy powered ones.) See the Texas license on mine in this picture.

But after I found out how much fun the Ariels are, on track, I started saving my car-recreation time for track. That way, I can go all-out, every lap, all the time, just the way the car and I like it!

Check out my newest demonstrator/company car- 365HP Ariel Atom Turbo with all carbon fiber bodywork and carbon fiber wings. This one has the full windshield and the Lexan side panels. The side panels are so clear you can hardly see them in the picture.

365HP and around 1400 pound car weight. It really makes an acceptable streetable alternative to my top fuel dragsters.

Cheers,

Thanks, Danny, good to hear from you again.

If you are ready for your own Ariel Atom, I now have my Chevy-powered one for sale. It is the one in front of Ercie's pickup. I just put a brand new GM LSJ crate engine in it, for the sale.

And the race engine I built for it, that is now out of the car, goes with the sale ,too.

On a different note, come by sometime and check out the Mars red, Mercedes SL550 roadster, twin turbo V-8 with seven speed paddle shift, that Ercie gave me for my birthday. (It is certainly no Ariel Atom, performance-wise, but it is a nice ride to church and back)

Ercie and I are working at Eddie Hill's Fun Cycles on Tuesdays and Thursdays- come by sometime and say hi.

Cheers,

Eddie FourFather Hill

This is the Chevy-powered Atom I have for sale. I currently have it set up for track, as shown here.

But it also comes with all the street equipment, as shown here when they used the Atom I now have for sale, as the poster car for AtomFest.

Call me if you have an interest, and we can take it for a ride-

Cheers,

Eddie FourFather Hill

It's on my bucket list. I have a few other priorities to get behind me and then I'll be a buyer. All it takes is a ride with you and it becomes a must have.

If you need someone to do a write up on a test ride I am just minutes away.
