My Challenger R/T
Been a member of Corvette Forum for a few years, always enjoy the posts and discussions here more so than any other car forum I've been a member of. Had fun with a project C4 Corvette for awhile but had to sell it when I moved. As much as Ive been wanting to jump on a C6 and now probably a C7 I haven't been able to take the plunge just yet for practical reasons. (though a Corvette purchase is in the horizon)
Anyways, just wanted to share my current ride. A 2012 Challenger R/T Classic, Auto with all the bells and whistles, track pack, Nav etc. This also has been a dream car of mine, so I'm very blessed to have it in the driveway!

Your new to your Challenger RT looks AWESOME and is a great car.
I have daily driven my Silver 2008 Challenger SRT8 for the last 2 years, rain and snow, and sun of course, and the car is FREAKING awesome. Very well built and very quick for a 4100 lbs machine. With just CAIntake, High Flow Case, Cat back system, and Diablo Predator Tune, I ran consistent 12.7x, 12.8x, in the 1/4 mile.

Needs wider rims/tires on the back...
I like these wide body cars:

Drifting
Atlanta traffic played a big part in the decision to change. Plus, the SRT has a few extra creature comforts; heated seats, heated wheel, paddle shift, better stereo, etc. Really, only my young kids could sit in the back of the GT500, and even they had issues fitting. My buddies over 6' have plenty of room in the SRT.
Powerwise, there's no comparison...at all. My Shelby was tuned an pulleyed, so it was probably around 620 hp at the crank. BUT, putting that power to the ground was a BIG issue.
The SRT's brakes are leaps and bounds ahead of the 500, and the adjustable suspension is nice to have as well. But, it is much harder to see out of vs. the Shelby. 500 felt lighter and easier to throw around, but also much more unsettled.
The SRT is a great DD car. I DD'd the Shelby for a bit, but it just was too raw for all-weather daily commuting.
