Indeed. I am keeping my eyes open for a 997.1TT car in the local area. But these are about as rare as the hen's teeth.

The first version of the 997. After the mid-cycle refresh you have the 997.2

The update was mild aesthetically but included major underhood changes. The 997.2TT came with a different engine. The TT engine used in 996/997.1 had a reputation as an overbuilt and very reliable. The 997.2 engine was based on the their NA engine and has had more failures. Thus the 997.1TT are very desirable and often sell for more money than compatible 997.2TT cars.
