Another bump for a fine looking 99 SS Convertible!

Should help make someone's New Year Happy! Just curious: can you point me to the documentation where Hagerty says that these are slated to go up in value? Thanks in advance,

Rickman

Thanks - if you look at the pricing trend, you see a nice, upward curve for condition 1-2 cars over the last 2 years. A bit less for 3 and much less for 4. In my experience, it shows the nice cars are getting hard to find and are bringing more money.

You can play around with this tool on Hagerty site to see how pricing has tracked over the last few years for various makes/models as well as indexes (American Muscle, British, 50s), etc.

Pretty cool.

GLWS, nice representation of an LS1 4th gen.

I own a 99 SS myself, so a few nitpicks...

Hurst shifter (or **** only) isn't factory equipped, all 99's required the BBS RPO for that option. Edit: reread your post and saw the recent maintenance including the Hurst ****.

What exhaust is that? Didn't see the option for SLP Loudmouth, but I am assuming that's what it is.

Nice proper Y2Y (RPO for cars equipped with SLP options) car! The passenger door should have the label showing all SLP options.

Good catches - the car had some terrible short stick on a factory Hurst base. I went ahead and acquired the correct stick and ****. Not sure if BBS was available in '99 ? You might know better. This was also an early '99

The exhaust is factory from front to back - nice tone, but certainly not the volume of a loudmouth. The dual slash cut tips came on the OEM SSs as far as I understand for MY99.

I called SLP and verified the car's # and options, the stickers are present, but faded. The woman at SLP indicated this car was equipped with all available options at the time. I know other packages came later - at least per my research.

Thanks for the info...

BBS was an option for the last time in 99, in 2000+ it was included in the WU8 package with a manual trans.

Stock exhaust for WU8 cars(non-SLP), is dual outlet with single polish, rolled-lip tips. If the car has a nice tone, my guess is LM1 SLP cat-back.

Great looking car! And I would say a fair price given the condition. GLWS

Had another enthusiast come see the car who had purchased a 2k car new. We validated visually and via the SLP sticker...it shows "High Performance Exhaust."

I called SLP previously and they didn't verify the exhaust, but it's clearly on the Passenger Door Sticker.

Thus, this car actually had the LM1 per NW-99S from the factory! Pretty cool.

On startup, really nice tone. Top down, great run through the gears, but never boomy or obtrusive. It barks and burbles every so slightly on decel, but ZERO resonance. A very sorted combo.

Many thanks - check out some pics I added. Woolite and a special brush really rejuvenated the top which was otherwise like new!
