Dodge has laid their SMACK down on the table, now to see if GM and/or Ford will answer them.... I hear ford has a 750HP 4V waiting, and an 850HP version that they are having problems with exhaust valve temperatures & longevity also on file, GM???????

Too bad it looks like an oversized Dart. But as for the power, way to go Dodge! But it gets me how so many people bash it because of what it ways. They try to compare the Challenger to the Vet when it's not in the same category. The Viper is in the Vets category, the Challenger is in competition with the Mustang and Camaro. So let's do apples to apples comparisons, not apples to oranges.

11.0 quarter mile for the charger compared to 11.2 quarter for the Hellcat Challenger with STOCK TIRES, only means the 100+lbs. increase in weight for the Charger is over the rear wheels, giving it more traction! Seems this motor is distinctly TRACTION CHALLENGED!
Wonder what times these things will turn on a 60 degree day, a prepared track like ATCO, and mine shaft weather...10.6 STOCK???
Sounds like it could run with the BEST of our stock ZR1's and be a THOUSANDS POUNDS heavier!

Not really….
It's a complete different category of vehicle. It's a muscle car, not a track car and most guys just drive them around town. And if they are comfortable, all the better….Jay Leno loves his and older guys are already over weight…..

Acknowledge the specs
I agree that the styling us questionable but the muscle performance specifications are pretty good. Congrats to Chrysler - for producing an 11 second factory Street car

I have a 2011 Charger R/T max. love it. I would hoe they beefed up the rear axle in the hellcat. All that power and weight means traction.
All that power + traction equals broken parts. The wheel well lips are Not rolled in like on a mustang. Makes it tuff to stuff wide drag radials in there. my $0.02

They are heavy, but they are not marketed towards the Corvette buyer and are in a totally different class. And anyone who compares them to a Corvette is an ********. The target market for the Charger and Challenger is the baby boomer that wants a good performance car, but still needs room for 5, trunk space for a couple sets of golf clubs and doest want to sit on the ground.
