Default Do I have the fastest gas 1/2 T currently in production?

Just picked up a 14 Chevy High Country w/ 6.2L to replace my 09 Denali, it's rated at 420/460. This thing is a beast. Trying to take it easy while breaking in but it's hard not getting in it now n then. I know Ford had a 6.2 also , but I think the Chevy has more power. Just wondering if GM's 6.2 is currently the fastest out there?

That is a lot of power. But I sure wish they'd offer that 6.2L in a regular cab, short bed 2WD as that would be notably lighter/faster than extended cab/4 door/4WD versions (though standing start traction might suffer with the 2WD as well).

F150 Tremor: 14.5@95mph and 0-60 in 6.0.
Silverado 6.2: 14.9@100mph and 0-60 in 6.2.

From a roll, GM is faster.

2015 F150 weighs 700lbs less, which will likely make the truck significantly quicker.

Wow, the Tremor (Ecoboost turbo V6?) is really that quick? Impressive.

True, but I believe that 700 pound weight reduction only applies to the largest/heaviest (4 door 4WD etc.) of the models. The regular cab 2WD models will also weigh less than their earlier counterparts of course but I don't think it will be a full 700 pounds less.

Good info. I didn't even know about the Tremor. Prolly because it only come in Reg cab short bed configuration, a combo I would never purchase unless actually buying a Hotrod truck (which the Tremor is not).

It has the stock 365hp/420tq as the normal Ecoboost but has 4:10 gears whoot whoot :-) . No wonder that thing gets out of the hole quick!

I can't wait till I can line up against one. I just kinda hope it's from a roll lol.

Yes the crew cab is the one getting the full 700lbs weight reduction but they are dis continuing the 6.2L for 2015. So a heavy Platinum with the Ecoboost still won't be a match for the GM 6.2L High Country/Denali IMHO

True. If I were getting an F150 I'd probably go for the 5.0 either way but that too won't have much for the GM 6.2s either.

just hope they don't have the boost turned up on it, and since you can get the Tremor in 4x4....
