Default '14 High Country 6.2L Excessive gear whine

Pick up a new '14 High Country (while Stingray shopping, buts that another story for another day). Bought it with 32 miles on it. Trying not to dog it because of break in period but when I get aggressive with acelleration it sounds like the tires are spinning. Trying to put what I hear in words in pretty hard, so bear with me. It's a loud ...... Crap I don't know, it freaking sounds like the wheels are spinning but they are in fact not. It's everytime and even my wife can hear it. I even have a straight exhaust (muffler delete) on it and I can hear it. It's def gear whine IMO but I'm just wondering is this some kind of major flaw like the old Jeep Grand Cherokees rear end failures or is something I'm being paroinoid about. Also, maybe some of you have experienced this, because we are on a Vette Forum so I would presume most buy GM trucks.
