I love how some guys think if their car is not the fastest it simply cannot be enjoyed lol. This wasn't directed at the OP either. I know so many people that have bought cars because of magazine articles or videos and haven't come within 25% of driving the car to its capability. Badass GTR but I don't think it would appeal to someone who doesn't care for GTRs.

I know. Just thought some of us might really appreciate the performance of this vehicle. My C7 is the best Corvette I have ever had the pleasure of owning BTW..
Here we go again. They said the same 5 years ago with the C6Z. It was even on a car mag cover. Once they were actually raced by real owners, the Z destroyed the GTR. I expect the same in this case.
You do know these are run a few times then The engine blows up cars right?

Maybe we could just convert the Z06 forum to a DRAG RACING forum. Maybe GM should just put skinnies on the front and some mickey thompsons out back...why not. Let's pull out an old powerglide and a solid rear axle, then everyone will be happy. GM...also, 80k isn't cheap enough...gonna have be 50k.
I've owned 2 GTRs and 2 Z06. Have a 15 Z on order. I plan on keeping one of each. Both are great cars.
That AMS Omega is one of the nastiest GTR on the planet - and I think most know it. It took down the UGR Lambos not 2 days before at the Texas Invitational.
Alpha Omega best 1/4 mile 7.7@186.
Mark Carlyle is 6.58@220.

I'm new here and i'll be Purchasing a C7 Z06 in early 2015.
Question for you Kadorja..
Mark Carlyle's time was very impressive indeed.
Was the car he set that time with fully road legal, with full interior, A/C, over drive trans, no nitrous, and driven back to his house after the run with the option to use his navigation system? I wonder if his wife drove it as well?
I was under the impression that this was quite literally the only car in the world, ever, that could post those numbers, and boast those luxuries.
Fill me in I would love to know how his Apple compares to Alpha's Orange.
I find these comparisons to be quite cute wouldn't you say?
Oh shoot your right I thought we where comparing the world's fastest GTR to the world's fastest LS powered Z06.
Stock vs stock C7 Z06 is still faster.
Modified to the extreme the C6 Z06 is still faster.
I guess Alpha owners will just have to get used to a stripped interior to run with Vettes.
I love GTRs, have driven one on the track and even considered buying one but for the price they go for there's better to be had. They're definitely great cars but in this comparison I see no reason to buy one vs a Z06.

You might want to check out NHRA quickest street car compition. There are a string of cars that drive to tracks around the country pulling trailors with all thier stuff in them. Some run in the sixes. The latest ran 6.17 @ 219 mph. But wait, we are just talking about some old Nova and an S-10 pickup, not nearly has sophisticated as your cute little Datsun..By the way does the GTR have a trailor hitch?
