I am reading that one consideration of this GT350 that went into it is that it places it at a lower retail number. If you can afford the GT500, then this consideration is worth looking at when analyzing which to get.
Then there's the consideration of buying new or used. The great benefit to this model is the independent rear suspension. So, if gaining the indy rear suspension is important to you, it would disqualify the older Mustang technology. Just some thoughts.....

A production American v8 with flat plane only existed in internet fantasy, so I assumed the ridiculous flat plane Voodoo rumor was false.
If only they branched out into vette fighter bodies, as evidenced by the GR1 demo.
Lacking intellectual capital, evidenced by the consistent leaning on Carroll Shelby, and inability to keep the GT in production, I still like their powerplants. I can always count on Ford to have the best sounding domestic v8.

Nice but I still prefer the exterior of the '14 - especially the tail lights ! And I agree with User24 - Mustangs have always had a great sound to them even without an aftermarket exhaust !
