Any 389 GTO tripower owners ???
I have a few puzzling questions on a 1964 tripower setup.
I have a situation where cyl.s 6 & 7 "do not fire" at idle after the car warms up.
I believe it is because the idle mixture is too lean. And I think it is because the rear carb is letting air thru even though the throttle blade is completely closed.
Does any of that make sense???
Off idle the car runs great. Spark plugs look perfect. If the car is idling and I plug off the air to the rear carb the engine dies.
Also, does anyone have a pic of the vacuum tank and how it is plumbed in ??
Another question. Where is the kick down switch for the automatics located??
Thanks

You have a vacuum leak somewhere, I would guess around the brake booster.
That setup only runs on the center carb on idle, those end carbs have 2 positions open and closed they don't do anything else.
Those carbs can be vac linkage or progressive

As I recall 64's ran off center carb and other two were Vacuum operated...the 65 and up is a much better set-up with mechanical linkage to other carbs..
You may have a vacuum leak. good luck.

Yes on center carb alpha
The electric kick down switch may be INSIDE ON LINKAGE on firewall . I would also look for a fairly large plastic or rubber hose with a crack.
