New Z06 competition.

Very exotic... more of a Ferrari/Lambo target but it's a heads up for GM to go forward with the mid-engine Zora or whatever they will call it. I think that Ford GT's base price will be at least 150K. Current C7 Z06 is still the best bang for the buck IMO.

I do not care for the exaggerated size of the rear air intakes...otherwise ok. You have to get used to an overall different look of mid engine cars.

It's stunning, but if what most people feel is true, that it'll be a $250k+ car, I couldn't justify it. Obviously we don't know the performance figures yet, but for that kind of cash I'd be looking at a true exotic.

Got Boost?!
At this point, if you have enough money to burn I don't think its a matter of justifying the purchase, but more of a "I've got to have this".

looks awesome. i want one. the problem is that it is probably north of 170k and my z will be a daily driver.. has lots of storage.. this one looks to have actually no storage whatsoever. so the car serves a different purpose.. it cannot be a daily driver for me.

lol what is a "true exotic". This thing looks and will probably perform way better than most Italian and German "exotics".

Competition for the Z06?
Well, it appears the more powerful Z06 will be out for two full years before this surfaces.
And the Z06 will be more HP! Faster...maybe!
Looks like about the time this hits the new Zora will be shown and it will beat this down easily.

I'm not speaking on behalf of other people...Sounds like you have your own definition of an exotic and the GT may fall within that definition. A true exotic to me would be a Ferrari/Lambo. I hope that people buy the GT regardless of the price point. However, if I'm going to pony up $200k+, it's going to be for a car that's got a long history of producing cars at that price point.
I like the Z06's price point for a domestic "supercar." Your definition of supercar may vary.

I'm glad I gave you a good laugh.

There are thousands of plain-jane Ferrari 360's in this country (some you can buy used for $60K), you mean to tell me they are more "exotic" than this super limited production run $300K super-car?

While "exotic" has some subjectivity, I definitely wouldn't say that all Ferrari's and Lambo's are "exotic". Exotic just means rare and limited production.

If the GT comes in at the right price point, with the right performance, I'll likely consider it. However, when a company's bread-and-butter is producing economy cars with a normal price range of $15k - $60k and I'm looking for a car with a price tag of $200k+, I'll take my money to Ferrari/Lambo.

That car must have been a motivational factor for gm to finally building a mid engine corvette.
Holly crap did ford hit this one out of the park.
The last ford gt was cool if a bit too retro for my tastes...
This one is clearly futuristic in its development and it's styling...
Has the paddle shifters so many guys wanted too.
I look forward to hearing weight and other specs including the astronomical pricing....LOL
THIS IS A WINNER !

Bob , corvette is a great sports car, but to compare it with a real exotic supercar? Come on man!!! ..... Zora, Super Zora Etc..... or any other corvette model GM releases will Not be even close to being in the same league as this car, comparing them is silly.

I think we need more specs to make a full comparison to the C7. But it does look good in my eyes.
It will need a V8 and maybe a hybrid electric motor for a high sticker price.
And it will need some storage to hold gear for the track. If you quote GM, "When you design a car it is a good rule of thumb to plan for enough storage to hold a golf bag."
