Default 427 bbc covette engine

I have a 427 bbc. block # is 3963512. The #'s on the front is "TO122LM" Then it has 19S716080 on the same flat area in the front. (right side) Is it worth anything? Or should I just use it in my Camaro as planned.

Thanks guys

You probably need to ask this in the C2 & C3 sections.

Here's the deal ....both could be 2or 4 bolt mains the .the T O in the serial leads me to think truck ..MAY BE NOT

It was used in 1969 and it is a 396

It was also used in1970 ...thru 1976 as a 454...

just key up Chevy Big Block and you can trace it...HAVE FUN ..I HAVE PUT BIG BLOCKS IN EVERYTHING FROM Chevelles to a 1963 Suburban ..Keep me posted I have all kinds of parts..

T-Tonawanda Plant (BB plant),01-Jan,22-day of month. LM is 390hp 427. Vin denotes 1-Chevy,9-year,S-Corvette model,716080 is the last 6 of Vin. It's worth something to someone.

In addition to what others have shared in your thread, here's a site with more info:
http://www.mortec.com/bbc.htm

If you really want to sell the engine, post/advertise in the Corvette Forum C3 parts for sale section.

Furthermore, if interested, you could post/advertise the engine in the NCRS website, C3 Documents and Stamped Parts. The engine might be worth a bit more money to a C3 owner.

A perusal of the 2 sites might give you some indication of engine worth and help you decide if you want to sell it.

If the engine is original to a C3, the likelihood of re-uniting it with the original car is 'needle in a haystack' venture.
