Default Lotus Evora

The Lotus Evora has good specs and numbers but appears to be too trim and too simple.

But I'll grab some of its better photo angles:

In fact, the rear has a wide body kit. So it's too trim and simple at the front and too trim on the rear fastback.

And so this car-show version helps it:

Another problem with the Lotus Evora is that it competes with the Porsche Cayman

The Evora competition:

The Cayman has gone for a 911 tall roof look:

The Boxster is a basic jump-over-the-side sports car:

The Alfa Romeo 4C:

That's a shorter wheelbase than the Evora.

A gentleman who is in love with the evora that I met this summer went on to tell me he wouldn't buy one over whatever his present ride was because he did a lot of research and found the development of the car was lacking in areas outside the Toyota v6 motor....

I can't remember the specifics he talked about but it basically disclosed certain aspects of the development that continually repeated the same issue over and over again...

I apologize I can't remember what the problem or issue was....but I do remember he was in love with the evora and refused to move on the very good deals being offered because of it.

I believed him.

The Lotus Evora is built like the Corvette in that it has a chassis of aluminum extrusions and then a SMC bodywork. The Corvette and the Evora differ in that the Corvette uses some full length one-piece extrusions while the Evora makes sections.

The Evora is the six-cylinder rear-mid-engine car for long wheelbase length. The Cayman has a shorter wheelbase. The 4C with a turbo-four has a shorter wheelbase than the Cayman.

The Evora has a transverse engine. That allows a front-engine-front-wheel-drive engine and transmission to just slide to the rear of a car to make a rear-mid-engine car. But the rear-mid-engine cars with transverse engines are harder to work on than rear-mid-engine cars with longitudinal engines.

The rear-mid-engine Cayman and Boxster have longitudinal engines. Rear-mid-engine Ferrari and Lamborghini have gone to longitudinal engines. Rear-mid-engine R8 and 2006 Ford GT have longitudinal engines. The rear-mid-engine 4C has a transverse four-cylinder engine. The rear-mid-engine Lotus Elise has a transverse four-cylinder engine
