My first car was a Vette. 1977 Coupe, Tan color if I remember correctly. Manual as every Vette should be IMHO. She had a positrac Hextube rearend... She had as much power as that 97.5 ci motor would put to the wheels... I will never forget my trusty steed...Yes fellas 1977 Chevy Chevette, good times...

LOL.

My parents almost bought on of those after I left home. Luckily, they came to their senses before actually buying it.

1955 Chevy-4 door with six cylinder and automatic. My dad asked what I wanted and I told him a 55. He said he would buy whatever $300 would buy and he found me the 55. Oh, to have that car back today.

1962 Chevy station wagon. Metallic blue with a smashed driver's front fender. I replaced the fender with a junkyard red fender. Put a mattress in the back. Made for interesting conversation when I'd pick girls up for our first dates. They'd usually ask about it with a smile and I'd smile back and say, "Oh, that? That's for when I go camping."

I was a bit spoiled and had 3 cars in high school. My dad was buying me what I wanted when I turned 15, but he had occasional need for a truck - so he talked me into a GMC stepside with a customizing budget. It was blue, any I added blue button-tucked crushed velvet interior (seats, roof, door panels), gold dish rims, a chrome roll bar, nice sterio, and a Honda 3 wheeler in the back as a bonus. A year later he felt bad about talking me into a truck, so he bought me a 280ZX Turbo. A classmate rear ended me 8 days after I got it, and later that year it sustained a bit of flood damage, so he then bought me a 300ZX Turbo. It was the '80s - times were good.

I had a '58 Chevy beater that my dad gave me to learn to drive with, it was my first car and came without power steering or brakes.
Then quickly bought a 63 Chev Impala SS coupe with power steering and brakes what a difference!

Good eyes.
I put the 396 badges on the car, never used the Yenko stripes they were in the trunk, back around 71 they were stealing 427's left and right in the Boston area, and I am sure around the rest of the country. Heck the day I took home the Buick GS in 68, somebody stole all the lugnuts off the car. Originally it had 427 on it, I changed a lot, if you notice the number plate says SS 350.....diversion that I used....

No problem with fuel pump but the drivers seat upright clamp broke a few times, and the accelerator cable would fray, and caused the carb throttle to run wide open, this happened to me once on the 495 Beltway in DC, that was a fun ride.....

Other than that, no problems with the car at all, loved the way it handled. I had deposit on Porsche 914 and decided to save a lot of money and with the X-1/9, no regrets.
