Thanks, I appreciate it.

Mine was a '60, single 4 barrels 283. This one has 2X4's, but anyone could have changed that out. I think this one is a '59 judging by the seats, but again...anyone could have changed that.

Here is my former '60.

Here it is on Vette Magazine in 2001.

There are a "lot" (rare color combination) turquoise/turquoise '58-'60's out there with white soft top, and coves. But there was only ONE '60 that was a Vette Magazine "cover car" for 2001. It is out there, but where?

Mean? Intimidating? Few cars can beat the Greenwood "Spirit of Le Mans".

I have a 3.5L EcoBoost in our Explorer Sport, and I love it. Great motor. I'll have a new Raptor. While I will absolutely miss the sound of my 6.2L through the Magnaflow exhaust, I am in favor of the increased horsepower, increased torque, decreased weight, and increased MPGs that Ford has promised. If they hit the 500 HP mark, I'll order a new one the first day they can be ordered.

My truck looks identical but without the beadlocks. I wish I could say I was a fan of the Gen 2 Raptor but I can't get over the EcoBoost. I'm anxious to see how they perform and hold up. I think hp is said to be around 450 and I don't think gas mileage is going to be too much improved-maybe 15-16 mpg. I could be totally wrong though.

Not mine, but that pic made me want a black V. I've always liked them, but I can't get my wife to go for it. She said if we got a V, it'd be my car and I'd have to give her the Vette. Not ready to do that.

Wait, if you paid for the Vette, and then you pay for the V, where the Hell does she get off saying that you have to give her one?

It's a different story if you split paying for the Vette though.

We split it and have been sharing it, but we've been wanting to get another "fun" car. I think the V would be a fun car with a practical side. We could take it on trips, and we could ride friends around (with them all pinned to the seat on the on-ramp ). However, she would prefer to have a car she can call her own. She says she doesn't like the way I share. That being the case, I'll most likely get a new Viper and let her take the Vette.

The downside to having the V as a trip car is the sh*tty gas mileage and the small tank.

I would take a new Viper over most cars today in that price range. Gen V's can be had for a crazy good deal.

I knew the fuel economy sucked, but never thought about the tank size.

I was interested in an acquaintances '97 blue and white that was heavily modded. Twin turbo, huge brembos, just a ton of money invested. He wants $65k, but with the price of gen Vs now, I think I'd rather spend a little more and get a new (or almost new) car. I'm afraid an old, modded Viper would end up being garage art more than anything else.

I quite like Vipers, even the old ones. But a '97 is going to be nothing but a toy. They're really uncomfortable, harsh, raw, and in-your-face track cars. Not really what I'd call a trip car or cruiser Definitely awesome, but not really a cruiser. The Gen V Vipers are the best of both worlds. They're comfortable, great for trips, but when you want to misbehave it'll gladly oblige

Either way, good luck with whatever route you decide to go and be sure to report back with pictures
