Pontiac Solstice worth more than a Vet
Saw a 2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe on a local Chevrolet lot yesterday. Stopped in and looked at it, 1800 miles, priced at $30,000.00. Thought it seemed high so I looked it up on cars.Com. one in Colorado advertised at $75,000.00.

A seller can set an "asking price" anywhere he wants, but until somebody pays it, it doesn't mean it's "worth" it......

The coups are going high because there is only a handful of them built the production numbers are very low making them an instant collector car.
I wouldn't take a solstice unless it was a GXP, at least you get 260 hp for the lousy gas mileage.

They made like ~100 GXP Coupes in total, so that's why they're pricey. $30k is probably pretty decent.
Keep in mind, you're not going to get a Corvette in that age, condition, mileage, etc. for $30k either.

For $500 bucks you can put the GM stage 1 kit on and have 300 hp and 330 lb feet of torque. I've got that in my 2009 Cobalt SS, which is the same engine but a few pounds heavier car overall at just under 3,000 lbs. Launch control and no lift shift on both these cars. Trust me, that engine winds like crazy and is a blast to drive. I've tracked my SS at Road America, Black Hawk Farms, Autobahn Country Club, and the infield track at the Milwaukee Mile. Loads of fun, and you can surprise the hell out other cars when they see a humble Cobalt coming up on them! Since GM only made about 400 of the 4 door SS's, I'm hoping it, like the Solstice and Saturn Sky which it shared and engine with, might be a minor collectible someday.
