Speaking of trouble with starting and stopping... don't current GM cars have a problem with their ignition switches stopping the engine, brakes, and airbag from working and killing 51 people (and counting) with another 4100 claims to process?

Good jab at another marque though. A real zinger about QC and poor engineering.

It was good natured banter, not a dodge slam..... So... Grab a coffee, pick up a paper and enjoy the fact you aren't getting hammered with snow.

I love all the brands BTW..... Have a 66 shelby .....got my son an avenger, bought my entire family edges and focus (foci ?) etc, etc.. My daily driver is ford 150 limited . In case you are worried I might be a GM fan boy..
I keep all of the big three in business.. (And of course a dozen vettes...)

Must be really slow if you pride yourself on the fact it will smoke a 40 year old car.The reason i posted this is that whatever is not a z06 you guys trash .Meanwhile there are many cars that deserve to be respected and admired and the Hellcat certainly is one of them.Meanwhile a few parts swapped on this old 440 mopar and it will easily show you its tail lights. It only weighs 3560 pounds and doesnt have any computer pulling back the timing so the motor doesnt blow.Lol.I will be kind to you, wont race you with this one but my stock Zr1 would not mind a little challenge once the snow melts.Come on guy a 2015 c7 z06 and you re all happy that it will smoke a 70 s car riding on 15 inch tires and rear drum brakes.Chill out have a coffee many different brands of cars are fun and good to own.

Actually your facts are a little misleading.

The 51 deaths occurred in accidents that involved GM cars that “may” have had faulty ignition switches.

I think it was only a few? deaths that involved a car "possibly" switching off due to a bad ignition switch. And I recall reading somewhere the NTSB couldn’t directly attribute any of the deaths to an accident actually caused by a faulty ignition switch.

In other words most of the 51 deaths you are crowing about were in accidents that occurred for other reasons. However because the airbag may not have deployed (and saved a life) due to a possible faulty ignition switch, GM was held liable.

Not defending GM, but lets keep it real many of the victims were impaired, speeding or not wearing seat belts. Attached are a few examples of the accidents. Judge for your self.

Nice Car bud, Love the car. 440 Magnum? Great car for the times. I drove a 442 455 HO back then and both of my buddies had chargers. One was the Daytona, I think the only mad 500 so Mopar could track the car, Very fast car for the times and would walk my car. Ran 160 in that car on the highway, talk about a scary ride! I have a 67 chevelle SS restored in my garage. This is were it all started boy's don't be such a hater. And here will come the comments on my chevelle. Talk all the Sh-- you want. Built 502 with 200 shot oh nitrous. Very fast car.

That's a great counter argument. Very refreshing to see someone not get caught up in all the deaths, injuries and emotional trauma that could have easily been avoided by simply doing the right thing.

What is the acceptable death rate for you for a giant corporation's negligence? Would 12 corpses be OK? Where do you draw the line on bodies?

My number is 0. As in Zero people died from using your product.

Also from this article posted a few days ago:

http://money.cnn.com/2015/02/01/auto...-compensation/

"So far, 128 claims have been ruled eligible, including 51 deaths, said Kenneth Feinberg, the victim compensation specialist hired by GM (GM) to evaluate the claims and authorize payouts.

The vast majority of the claims were for lesser physical injuries -- requiring either inpatient or outpatient care. Nearly 300 claims were for crashes that resulted in major conditions like quadriplegia, permanent brain damage or significant burns."

SO how many of those 300 people that did not die but have major life altering injuries are also bogus? My number of acceptable burn victims and quadriplegics would also be Zero - Zero acceptable.

If the salesman comes up and says "Only like 12 people died not 51 and only like 100 out of 300 people had brain damage or are paralyzed. But it has a great sound system"

Would that work for you?

This is why stuff gets moved to the "Other" forums. For whatever reason, when people want to discuss a performance car (regardless of the manufacturer) they feel the need to post it in the C7 Z06 forum. There was even a time when someone decided to start a thread regarding his inability to place a deposit on the new Ford GT.
