Default OT Olds 442 FS

A good friend of mine is selling his '72 442 convertible clone. It is an original Cutlass Supreme which actually is worth more than a 442!

If interested, send me contact info at hcabplanalp@ucdavis.edu and I'll pass it on. I am receiving no compensation, just helping out.

Hans

My bad, he's asking $22,500

I don't know a whole lot about Oldsmobiles but, how is a Cutlass Supreme worth more than a 442?

Sorry about the wrong posting, thanks for moving it admin.
as for the value, that threw me as well, but I check with the folks at the Towe museum here in Sacramento and they felt it would list for 2K more in original trim. In current form it's a clone.

Oh, that's make more sense now. This particular car, in it's original state, would be worth more than it's current state as a 442 clone.

Default Sold!

My buddy sold it for $20,000.00, not bad for a nice car.

Maybe because many more 442s were saved or have been revived compared to Cutlasses. My son's base-model '63 Chevy II 100 two-door post sedan has a now rare, lighter and stronger body (and has become a cool gasser tribute) while "needs everything" Nova Super Sport hardtops and convertibles are all over Southern California at rather stiff asking prices.

With higher production numbers, a "lowly" Cutlass is far more likely to be "just like the car Mom or Dad had, and I learned to drive in".

And maybe a GM A-body with small-block Olds power STILL gets much better mileage and insurance rates than one of those "street racer ticket-magnet" models?
