Anyone here drive a Charger SRT8 or Challenger? Thinking of new DD
Hello. I currently drive an Audi A6 that has been giving me nagging problems. The car is under warranty for another 8 months, but already had a water pump fail which would have costs a lot of money to replace if it wasn't under warranty. I had a Challenger R/T and I traded it in after a year because it felt so slow by the time it made any power I had to shift. I am thinking of a Charger SRT8 because it looks mean and offers the comfort of a 4 door vehicle. Any thought?

If you haven't already, take a look at the CTS-V. When my lease ended on my E63 AMG I picked one up and I really like it. You get a lot of car for your money and you won't complain about the power. Sorry, I know you were looking for info on the SRT8, but I felt the need to open my big mouth. JD

Mopar Jimmy has/ (had) an SRT8 Challenger as his daily driver, he's a local guy. Last I heard he had only good things to say about it.
There is a pretty big performance jump from the R/T's to the SRT8's. The R/T's I drove, although nice cars, weren't very fast.

I liked the V, it doesn't look different enough from the base CTS. Used Vs are going for $45,000 and Charger srt8 for $38-$40,000 for the same model years. I really like the front grill in black. It looks menacing and I'm sure theres a fear it generates from the association with law enforcement. My r/t was 370 HP 400 tq. The 6.1 SRT had 420 HP. I wonder if the 50 hp made a big difference. The current srt8 make 470

Are you sure you want to go from one unreliable vehicle to another? You might want to consider a 2012 Lexus IS F. It will have superior reliability compared to any Audi or Charger.

I looked into the isF, test drove a 2010 it was solid on the turns, had a nice heavy steering feel, a surprisingly mean bark when you got on the gas. However I dont like the is series and from the research I performed, the valves have to be checked every 30,000 miles which costs a lot of money.
Your challenger scat pack looks nasty, really like the rims too. My r/t felt more comfortable than the Audi I have. Unfortunately my woman wants something w 4 doors.

I have a 2015 Sublime Scat Pack 6sp and this car moves out. 8sp auto are consistently in the 12.2's on the challenger forums bone stock I think it's allot of car for the money and am very pleased with mine.

I actually just bought a 2015 black Scat Pack too. I bought the 8 speed auto only because I didn't feel like shifting all the time getting back and forth to work. The 8 speed auto is an excellent transmission. Set to sport mode the shifts are lightening quick. You get really good power and actually decent MGP for a 392 ci 4200 lb car with 500 horsepower. I'm diggin it so far.
I was dead set on buying another Audi S4, but once I drove the Challenger, I had to have it. In comfort mode, the ride is really good. Not a great handling car, but not bad either. It is a big car. And I mean big. Long, wide, heavy. But extremely comfortable and the interior is super nice.

I have had a 2012 300 srt8 for a year now and have enjoyed it quite a bit but have had a lot of warranty problems. Car is quick for its size, handles good for its weight, brakes are very strong and resist fade well, offers a lot of convenience and tech features, and looks good.
I have intake and diablo tuner on it now and it runs high 12s and I am ordering corsa exhaust next week.
We average 19mpg and have seen 23 on longer trip. Stock Goodyear f1 tires only last about 15k miles if you are lucky $1100 installed. I have had about $12000 in warranty problems fixed and they have to order a dash next, leather is warping up in the middle.
I am considering a charger scat pack to replace it or a used viper(97 to 02 gts coupe or 06 coupe)

For what it is worth a guy on challenger talk with an 8sp auto has run an 11.89 at 114mph besting his previous run of 11.98 which was his first time with it at the track with just over 300 miles stock except for 305 width drag radials on the stock wheels.

As you may know, the world doesn't revolve around straight-line acceleration.

We get compliments all the time about the car and it seems a lot of people love the Plum Crazy color.
The only down side so far is the gas mileage. The car is a gas guzzler.
According to me as an owner, at this point, I can't agree with what CR and JDP say.
