Cheapest option would be to find a good clean used engine on craigslist.

Looks like it has done some serious mud racing or has been in a flood. I recommend bailing on that project because if the engine has that much muck on & in it, then so does everything else.

I used a lot of brake cleaner to clean all the stuff off... Also a spoon and vaccum. I really hope no dirt fell into the intake holes... Also I was kinda concerned i hydro locked it with brake cleaner. So I removed all the spark plugs and turned the key a few times to shoot everything out... Nothing came out so I guess I'm ok.

I guess I should now go buy new spark plugs. Car still won't start even with starting fluid.

Btw this tahoe has 198,000 miles. It's a z71 4wd. It has onstar and everything. Fully loaded. Sunroof, leather, has a little system in it. 6 inch lift. 35 inch tires. I knew it needed a little work.

I traded a 328i bmw and 1000 cash for it.

The bmw has 205,000 miles. I had gotten it because I had bought a Range Rover for 800$ that the guy said needed a head gasket and I bought some blue devil and fixed it. Then traded.

The Vette is good. I got a blue hood for 150$ and a silver bumper for 150$. I May plasti dip the car but I'll probably just get it painted white.

Like I said the Tahoe was running fairly well. I kinda knew what I was getting into. But I've wanted one like this for a while. It'll easily be worth 10k after I fix it or put a motor in it.

Like I said it should run if it ran before. Pull one of the spark plug wires off a plug, and put a spare plug in the end of the wire, then ground the threaded part of the plug to a metal part of the engine and have someone crank to see if it has spark. If it didn't start with starting fluid, then it probably has no spark because something didn't get plugged back in. Actually have your wife hold on to the threaded part of the spark plug while you crank, and she will let you know if it sparks.

Ive never seen an LS motor look that dirty. If it was running, it should run again.

Maybe these can help you get this motor back in one piece, I put these threads together:

If the motor is that ****ed up, you can bet the farm that the rest was just as abused…...

A new motor might just be the "starting" point for you if you plan to keep it….

Bend over and grab your ankles on this one, it's gonna hurt…...

It appears that what you have experienced with the Tahoe is what is known as Karma. Pawn off a patched up POS off to someone else, receive a patched up POS in return.

It's probably not that messed up, or at least it wasn't before all the mud went into the intake ports. Probably just got mudwomped, and never cleaned. These mud guys wear that mud as a badge of honor.

Where are you getting your valuation from? Nada clean retail is $6900 and below are the wholesale prices. Yes I know the lift adds value but on the older vehicles I'm lucky to get clean retail with no haggling if a vehicle has a lift (exceptions are lifted diesels and Silverado Z71's). And a gas vehicle with 200K will weed out the "top dollar" customers.

Have you flipped many $10,000 vehicles? Do you actually have kids with $10,000 cash rolling around in your town? In my experience most need financing and the majority of the banks use Nada. Nada loan on that Z71 is about $4000.

10/23/14 SO CAL Regular $1,500 173,494 Below WHT 8G A No
11/19/14 SF BAY Regular $5,350 99,742 Avg GOLD 8G A Yes
01/14/15 CALIFORN Regular $4,900 141,478 Avg WHITE 8G A Yes
03/19/15 CENT CAL Regular $4,400 192,162 Avg GRY 8G A Yes
03/25/15 CALIFORN Regular $4,300 151,194 Avg BLACK 8G A Yes

Injector pulse?

BTW I think that if there is no CPS data the comp won't pulse the injectors.

Any stored codes/MIL/CEL?

And sure some call Tahoe's trucks but you really don't have a lifted truck.

If you get it running and put $7000 in the glove compartment, it will be worth $8500.
